Hello, my fellow pilots.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Un Sanyo... and my name is as random as a carebear's logic.
I want to become a terrorist.
For me EVE is a place where I can have fun without real life consequences. Something you do not have to take too seriously (some people tend to forget that). I'd like to extract ISK and fun and tears from those who think otherwise. Yet, I can't commit to a corporation since usually I don't have the time to play EVE for extended periods of time and moons pass without subscription before I come back again to roam the pixel stars. I have come up with an idea. Why not create a corporation myself and fly solo/have alts in it. So I could wardec someone who I feel is not going to handle the situation to their advantage. I'm a newb so mistakes are to be made but there're many corporations who recruit newbs or better yet are started by newbs. I'd like to disturb their operations blow their ships up and ransom them.
I know established and skilled terrorists can achieve a lot when flying solo. And it probably would be a better idea to join one of their corporations to learn from them but that probably wouldn't work very well for me. That's why i want something of my own.
Right now I'm looking for advice, comments or thoughts and coffee. Thanks! |

Good point, noted. Wouldn't have thought of that :)
Basically, more targets are better? Wonder how serious would a corporation take me if i put a war dec on them. |

Sounds like it could work. Be prepared to disband your corp every now and then if you get locked in by Dec Shield :)

Most purely industrial corps are going to do one of two things:
1. Ignore you, because as a one man corp you're probably not going to fly all over creation looking for them, or 2. Dock up and ignore you, because you happen to be in local. They'll then log into their alts corp accounts and continue mining.
Serious PVP corps will probably go looking for you, as opposed to the other way around. Choose wisely.
Nullsec corps won't even notice, because most serious/high value logistics is handled by NPC alts anyway.
Pirate corps are going to gank/shoot you whether you wardec them or not. Bumping, leave it alone. |

True, that could happen. Will do whatever it takes to survive and succeed. Still reading about the mechanics of war dec.

I'll be mostly targeting industrial corps but most importantly i'll be looking for people who do not know what they are doing. Some information gathering and observation will be done before taking any action of course. So hopefully I will be able to avoid too much trouble but you never know and there's only so much one man can do with limited training.
My main goal is to have fun in the process of all this |

Seeing as you have no real PvP experience...
Why don't you just join a group of PvPers and learn the ropes before you start your "terrorist" career?

solo "elite" pvp in highsec has been "nerfed" with the suspectflag on logis and pretty soon again once they remove off-grid boosting.
honestly, nothing of value was lost.
but if highsec pirating is your thing, join a small corp that is already doing that, since you will often need to keep 3 - 4 wars going all the time to keep things interesting and there's the odd chance you will find a corp that will fight you back, and will kill you repeatedly if you are solo. |

Not really. Obviously you were looking at your television, noticed the brand and went 'Thats a name'

Oh wait. Indeed it's the brand, lol. I forgot that... nice catch. It was a usb wireless adapter. I wouldn't buy a tv named sanyo canyon abibas or something... and you're completely wrong about my alts. There's one and it has been unsubed for months now so it doesn't matter anyway.
I do have some pvp experience. Few months worth of roaming mostly in low sec and mostly solo (at least on my end)... hoping that's enough to get me started for now. |

You really want to be a terrorist? Then learn to fly cloaking ships, go to 0.0, park it in a busy system of some big alliance and watch them come to the forums and whine about AFK cloaking. From experience, the best bet is to identify and war dec suitable alliances. Few reasons for this:
1. An alliance cannot join Dec Shield 2. You generally have more targets 3. Forming an alliance represents an upfront sum of 1 bill so you can guarantee that at least some of the members have a bit of ISK 4. If you're in a 3 person corp war decing a 200 person alliance, they severely underestimate you which leads to nice early kills before they wise up 5. Unless it's organised (not usually in high sec), the corps within an alliance will not talk to each other a whole lot
No they don't take you seriously at first. You typically get empty threats of having mercs hired against you, then whining and then they stop talking to you when you start killing them. We try to ransom alliances, and if they don't pay the war dec stays live until they do.

From what I understand, a corp in that alliance could drop out, inherit the war and then join Dec Shield, bringing the war to them. Don't know if anyone would go through that hassle for a 3-man corp that can be disbanded just like that and reformed anew, but it's a possibility.
EDIT: Zerg Overmind has posted an update that the last known perma wardec loophole has been pathced on the 10th of December. So I guess you just got your Licence to Terror. |

e.g. Thanks, good post. I'm kind of counting on not taking me seriously so I can do damage. Placing a war dec on an alliance sounds ambitious but maybe it's not such a bad idea.
Didn't expect to get this much feedback here on forums and in game. Pirates and terrorists somehow seem to be the most sane people in eve. Thanks guys! |

Wardecs aren't what they used to be, but they'll often still get you ganks. It doesn't take very much time or effort to go track down an inattentive dude and kill his purger rig drake out from under him, but somehow many people can't find it in themselves to make the effort, so ymmv.
I applaud the work you're doing. Whatever your particular path, god speed.
Oh, and have a guide I wrote about a thing you can do with only an hour or two time investment.
