Right now if you eject from a ship, that ship sits there for weeks. It says your name on it, your corp ticker name on it, but your not there.
When I warp up to a station, or whatever. I usually see about 3 to 4 people hanging around. Problem is, they look like real players just sitting there, but they aren't.. they are abandoned ships.
Suggestion:
I say we start by making these abandoned ships actually SAY derelict or something. Sure i've seen ships that say derelict on them, but thoughs were usually ships with players in them. ? Anywho.
If a ship is abandoned it should at least say Derelict.
If a pod is abandoned it should at least say Derelict. But it would also be cool if you could scoop up derelict pods in space.
An abandoned ship/pod should never have the players name on it.. It looks like a real player this way.
And last but not least.. These abandoned ships and pods should be cleaned up with all the containers that are too old. So whatever it is that sweeps up old containers, that should sweep up derelict ships. But please just make sure you guys get it right the first time. I would hate to see people disappearing because the server thought they were a derelict.

I realy do not like the sweeping up dead ships idea !!!!
It should be possible to leave a ship in orbit for weeks if you want to. This is a perfectly viable tactic with it's own risks and benefits

I agree with Quantum on this one, they have their purposes. However, should someone destroy/loot it - should they be able to recycle someone elses?
Or should we just be able to return pods to the ship manufacturers/insurance company? Perhaps a small reduction in your next insurance payments?

Well the ships should atleast say derelict.. I'm tired of seeing ships that appear to be people, but are just someone's litter.
