Got bored so started playing in 3d studio.
Finally got it to a stage where i feel it might be good to post it for people to see.
I like to consider it a possible Tech 2 Variant although really its just what i think the actual finished version of the basic tempest should look like :P.
Ive attempted to keep the general design intent of the tempest although i have altered some of the hull structure so it looks a bit more solid.
Been trying to work out a realistic design for the projectile turrets.
Pretty hard to work out a mobile design while not having it look like a toy
Next i plan to do is add details to give it more scale then look at textures.
The final aim will be to produce an animated sequence.

Looks nice :) would really like to see new and improved skins for all the ships...

very nice, infact all minnie ships should have their 'fins' or 'sails' given a bit more solidity
