Am I imagining things or are threads being locked prematurely more than usual?
(And some posts being deleted for no obvious reason)
This occurs sometimes when (gasp) a valid discussion is starting or has the potential to take hold.
Most the "conversations" here aren't covered with sprinkles. So, for example, why do we have 30 pages of "High Sec sucks" X 10 iterations (I didn't count) and a Low Sec thread that lasts 3 before the door is slammed.
And, I know I should ask this with an alt -- but I don't consider the experience non-trivial, so am standing behind my question.
I know forum posting is a privilege and not a right but so is my doing business with CCP. Since my sub includes access to this most entertaining place, I believe it is a fair question.
What's up? PR for Dust/Retribution?

I probably will but that doesn't help me answer if my radar is off or not. If it's not, it is a community-related issue anyway, so I'm interested in what others have to say about it. |

After almost 10 years, someone at CCP finally realized that allowing their forums to reflect what regularly goes on in-game was detrimental to their PR and company image.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'no.' |

If you mean the threads, well very true in some cases though many don't start getting meaty until >3 pages or >24 hours and usually a warning puts a halt on the wasted space....at least for awhile. |

Once the discussion has circled around the same points 3 or 4 times, there's no reason to keep it going. They just lock the threads, they don't delete them, so people can still read it.

Don't bother.
I have petitioned. The petitions fall on very deaf ears.
I have contacted IA. They say they are not involved with the forums and I should petition it if I see the ISD doing something untoward.
In other words, the ISD have total control over the direction of content on these forums, and nothing can be done to change that.
Which was the precise thing that was predicted months ago when the ISD was created, or re-created. You can read that yourself, assuming you can find the old threads about it.

Politics.. CCP are "sensor monkeys" -stolen from a post in crime and punishment that was shut down because you cant talk about ccp moderating furoms... Sounds like the Na-zis to me and why naz-is ad stared out is beyond me. |
