I noticed that everyship, even if its stopped, moves a bit not into a direction but a sort of very slow shakin'. In big fleets it coulb be hard to calculate that for every ship...

That's the slight camera wobble the game does at the client side. Has nothing to do with the servers, so it's not a cause of lag.

Originally by: Sobeseki Pawi It's the camera drone.
To be precise, the wobbling is caused by the slaves running on the treadmills IN the camera drone. Gotta love EVE technology! ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

Well, one server serves more than 1 system, I would appreciate 10+, but...if u come 100+ people on that server than of course u will get lag because of the package losses (the server has a buffer and upload/download safety limit I presume). There is only 1 ip of the server and 100+ that asks/sends information... This is why I think the lag appears... beacause the server tries to keep up with the changes that are in that area...

The "rocking" of ships is most likely nothing more than a client-side transformation of the ship model (which has been done in hardware for quite some time - hardware transform and lighting anyone?).
The server probably only cares about a stationary ship's position and direction vector. I seriously doubt it is sending *every single* model rotation and translation to *every other client within view* and is most definatly not creating package losses due to upload/download safety limits

actualy running 2 clients on 1 computer I find when they are together that Eve is hardly EVER exactly synced... some times its worse than others, but eve doesn't seem to care if the ship positions are synced or not. --------------------------- (\_/) (O.o) (> <) Bunny 4TW |
