They are deisnged to be nearly indestructable, so you CAN fight with them (which is of course something the maker doesn't encourage ROFL... CORRECTION! THEY DO ENCOURAGE IT! LOL). Check out this link for the site: Lightechindustries And this is the one I own with Luke Skywalker/Quigon green blade. My saber Hahah I still love those people who make fun of people like me who buy these things... but hey whatever makes you feel like a big man, eh? The prices here IIRC are a bit more affordable, they are hand made (and quite high quality), the blades are replaceable, and use light up wires similar to what some people use for Computer case modification, or for pimped out car interiors. They are fairly bright, and can be seen on a cloudy day with no problem and in dim lighting they shine very well. The green IIRC is the brightest, and can easily serve as a night light ;) As for thwaking someone and dueling with em: I have jokingly brought mine to mess around with fellow fencing and kendo enthusiasts, They stand up extremely well indeed. The balance isn't what I consider ideal for a two handed sword liek weapon, but in one hand it's got the reach of a small no Daichi, and the speed and agility worthy of the word Saber. They are NOT however very effective for long period blocks, or extensive enemy weapon control, Ie if your friend hits your blade and presses, the lightsaber blade is too flexible to really resist enough to control the oponents weapon. At least if the oponent is using a bokken for example. So block as close to your hands as your comfortable doing otherwise you won't have any control over the oponents weapon at all... A had a friend who also had a saber, and when we fought (it was night time), people stopped thier cars to watch us... Thats pretty cool! Only drawback is, these don't make sound without an addon component, which isn't 100% compatable with every hilt. (Ie you may need to strap it to your wrist). IMHO thats the only real flaw with these sabers. Anyway for those dorks like me who like this crap, I highly reccomend the sabers from this company. But I would never buy one if i didn't have the money to throw away on it. But hey, it's no worse than spending money on fast food, a bad movie, or other crap that is subjective in it's value... Even EVE for example... Have a nice day :) EDIT P.S. the parksabers are pretty nifty too, I remember they where my first choice, I forget why I went with Lightech instead tho.
