Using alts is not an exploit--only using recyclable trial accounts is. Whoever killed you is a lucky genius, and deserves every last BPC.

you might have a serious security leak in your corp, or did you openly broadcast: "hey, i am carrying 20000 BPC! please spank me!"?
a scorpion pilot is not a recycle alt, looks more like a regular 2nd account or even a main. and with full insurance the loss of a scorpion is not that much... compared with the possible reward of 20k BPC, even if half is destroyed and most are low end BPC's, it might still pay out. and some people might have done it just because they could.

The best thing to do would be to carry them in a secure container inside your hauler. That way even if your ship is lost, they couldn't get to them with the password protection... it would be a useless item for them to carry

Cans can't be password protected in that fashion until they're anchored, what you are talking about was removed from the game a long time ago.

Transport the BPCs in a BS. To gank the BS needs some time and till then they are ganked by Concorde.
