Battle has been ongoing for at least four days between the minmatar and amarr forces.
The minmatar seek to remove the amarr outpost deep in metropolis and have currently moved all active fleet operations to the area.
Amarr forces are converging on the area as well to reinforce the amarr defense forces. Battles have been raging for days with the minmatar slowly pushing the system towards more and matar influence.
Aset while the matar are showing no signs of letting up amarrian based out of other regions/systems have pledged their support.
With the battle entering it's 5th day more will be posted as developments come through.
Amarrian Vengeance would like to extend it's thanks to Agony Unleashed and Fweddit for providing leaderhip and support as well as each and every amarrian pilot losing ships with us in our stand to hold the system.
Stay tuned...... We fly outgunned, We fly outnumbered. It's what we do. http://www.youtube.com/user/Flyinghotpocket/videos |

For all the continuing shortcomings and imbalances of the FW system, events like these show the improvement from the old days. You have corporations relocating to key systems and both sides planning for long-term operations to control strategic junctures. These are battles that occur over days with each engagement between small gangs and solo pilots contributing to the overall outcome. Regular pilots can spend the entire day in PvP-oriented ships, and can easily make enough isk to do nothing but PvP.
It's feeling much more like a war over territory, where an individual pilot can contribute in a small but tangible way. And get paid. |

And then I went next door to Uisper because of the execrably bad local smack and lack of fights. (The change in plex geography has been really hard on large frigate and destroyer fights). |

Location, Location, Location Geography, Geography, Geography ... the fact that people can now move to and fro without having to either do a massive detour through high-sec or trying to punch through (what seems to have been) the longest existing gate camp in Eve history makes all the difference.
Fighting belongs in plexes, not on gates/stations!
Xmas rush almost over at the post office .. can hopefully get some Eve time before leaving for the holidays. |

I wont say we were outclassed; as I was in many an engagement where we beat the superior numbers with solid tactics.
But at the end of the day the hordes of minmatar were just to much. To win a war they did they right thing.
MY most vocal fustration is knowing that 80% of them would die in a decent one versus one. But hey it feels good to know they need at least three to take me down.
Look forward to the next campaign. For all the hate and smack I type in local. It's all in good fun, your the ying to my yang minnies. If it wasnt for you I would be mining in highsec or shooting rats in nullsec......and who wants to do that?
Hats off to all the amarr corps and pilots that made the last stand with us. We will be there when you call on us.

To be fair 80% don't have your fancy implants and experience ;) Also sorry that Santo got your pod, sucks to lose it like that. I do suggest taking it easy with the smack and hate, some of us minnies do fights one versus ones but if you come across as a **** noone will theyll choose ganking you instead. Lets be honest we are condemned to each other. Its either this or the french vs squids... and well.. yeah.
I know we have some smacktalkers as wel, but its not something that will make the game more fun. Not that much, maybe a little now and then. More is just counterproductive. L

As one of the leaders of Ushra'Khan, i will say the last few days have been nothing but fun for all. UNITY would like to thank all the Amarr loyal scum for the fights that make FW so great. You all showed your as tough as nails and willing to fight the odds. Most of you have earned my respect. I look forward to ether your counter push or our next offensive were we can meet on the field of battle once again.
To our allies, once again you showed your willingness to fight for our people. We came to bring freedom to those being enslaved in Aset, and we have done it. Many lost their lives, and many will not make it home. For us capsuleers, the fight will never be over until the Amarr empire burns alive. This was 1 more system we took for our people. We will now head to retake the Hed constelation (Dal block).
We come for our people! |

Unfortunately work took hold of me in real life for the last few days so could not enjoy this recent battle but I have to say last few months in eugidi have been fun.
I always expected us to lose Eugidi but hopefully what has been shown is that your going to have to put some effort in to move us :P The numbers involved in some of the fleets sent to engage our small gangs over the last few months have sometimes shocked me. It's really helped us hone our skills, so thanks UK and the rest of the minmatar that have fought in eugidi for the last few months.
Not that it's over of course :P

There are those complaining that we blobbed the bejeezus out of Aset. Well, of course we did.
There are proximal goals (goodfights) and there are distal goals (winning Aset to teabag Cynthia) and for the distal goals you do not fight fair. This is war. War is unfair. To say we should line up like honorable knights and fight hanky-battles for the love of our space bimbos is naive; this would put the operation and the strategic goal at risk for the sake of e-honour.
That being said, Fweddit proved time and again in the past week that they are far more than toddlers in rifters. They are now emo teenagerss in Bantams and Merlins, able to blob our blob and show commendable discipline. To say that we maintained full control of Aset due to blobbing 23.5/7 is to admit you were asleep 23.5/7; the fact is, the AU timezone did as much of the heavy lifting as everyone else to replace progress lost during Fweddit's control of the system.
The Amarr did best in the systems around Aset, bleeding us off one by one, with extremely good soloers (with heads chock full of implants, be as it may), so to claim no one could get a fight without being blobbed is also inaccurate - if you got blobbed it is because you stood in the path of the juggernaut and didn't pick or time your ganks well. Some did, and got plenty of our guys. Good work, and respect for being such a PITA to the juggernaut.
