it looks intressting, but nobody seems to know how the pvp system will work. and from what i have read on their forum devs have heavily pressed on that they don't believe in punishing faillure, but rather in rewarding success.
that makes me a bit sceptical. personaly i prefer a game whit real loss when defeated . thats whats brings the exitment and the adrenaline to pvp imho.

Totally agree... I'm playing the Matrix Online too and when defeated in PvP, you don't lose a single thing, so idiots go running around attacking everyone and his dog.
That's what's great about EVE IMO... You're more careful about selecting targets and when you win, it gives a real sense of setisfaction.
It'll be interesting to see how this game works out, I 've been watching it for a while...

I have to agree with Araviel that no punishment for failure might make the game boring for pvp players. I guess we'll have to wait and see since the game isn't even at beta stage yet.

i'll be there
though being a pirate straight off is not recommended, 'they' say be a privateer first then lose any flags you fly once strong enough and hoist the jolly rodger.
The pvp system is weird as hell, you spend most of your time on a sail map, then you go to an action (detailed) map when anything happens. PvP is instanced, basically only you and anyone nearby (your target and escorts) for eg go the the instance and some set distance around where you are are allowed to enter the instance once they arrive. Sounds weird as hell tbh but its something I will try.
Its also macro based, so you can set a load of actions to save time, like reef sails, load the long 9 and take her close hauled to the wind and so on or an escape macro like full sails, and wind behind you and so on with stern chasers.
Aside from that the other remarkable thing is that your always persistent, when you log out, your npc crew take over and will sial you to nearest friendly port. Once there you disappear from what I gather, but whilst at sea, your always open to attack.
have a read

I was following it for a bit, but since it's almost a year behind schedule(was supposed to be in beta around sept/oct), i kinda gave up on it.

With all that detail im sceptical that it will support warfare on the same scale that eve does. Also space combat seems more fun than sailing past the enemy again and again
The player driven economy still marks eve out from other games as well, yet to see a contender here. -------------- The Eve Diplomacy Table

Matrix online bl3h. The engine reminds me of an old old playstation 1 game called "Summoner". I hit lv 20 in just over 2 days and quit already. The only + i really have to say about it is that the events are advertised and planned well.
