Lolz. I can see you're new here. And you're right, this is definitely NOT like the old forums.
We've actually learned to be polite, sensible and courteous on the new forums. Well, most of us anyway.

I prefer them to the old forums. I'll grant you the old forums were more stable. They also logged you out of you took more then two minutes to write a post.
Both versions had pros and cons, in the end I like the new ones better, primarily because of the follow thread notifications.
On that note though, I'd like to ask for old notifications to be removed once you've visited them. Since people posting in a thread you've followed creates a new alert per post but collapses them, it can be hard when you have 7 alerts, but only five things showing, to tell which ones are new alerts and which are old. |

The old forums always had you logged off and navigating to off-site links was painful.
For even these two reasons, I prefer the current forums. |

+1 for the new forums imo. They're much cleaner looking, easier to navigate and actually keep you logged in long enough to post a decent amount. |

I was going to start a thread today just saying how much I was liking the new forums after a month or so of using them and found this.
So, no, these forums are loads better. Would be nice if they could just sort the image inlining though, oh and stop locking old threads. Nothing wrong with necroing if it's valid :/

Another thing about the new forums is that they don't have signatures which absorb 90% of the page with ghastly ponies and Rifters drawn in Paint.

If only we had a tickbox we could check to ignore signatures or not display them. They would be perfect. I for one like the look of the new eve-o forums and spacebook integration. I dont see it as money wasted.
An option to remove the nag page on opening an external link would be great as well. |
