Hi guys. I've heard a little about "Gang Talk" (I think that's what it's called) My corp mates and I are interested in exploring the possibility of being able to communicate verbally during group operations. Can anyone tell me how this can be set up?

This is so blatantly going to become a TS vs Vent thread. ______________________________________________

rent your selves a "vetnrilo" server or a "teamspeak" server. Its an additionala program that you set a button to talk on, enter a relenvent room and chat away!
There are some ppl who rent room on their servers for isk, but i cant think of any names :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If it's just a small gang you also have the option to download and install teamspeak server on your computer free of charge. __________ Capacitor research |

i use Ventrilo Linkage both are good you have more control in Team speak but we find Vent uses less bandwidth thus reducing lag.

Oooh, Kassad...
Altho, did someone demote you or something ? I'm used to guys with a higher rank.
Anyways, teamspeak or ventrilo indeed, altho the majority of Eve seems to be using teamspeak, so choosing that one makes switching to friendly servers somewhat easier when the time comes. Moneta, my dear. No I was not demoted. I figured I had not earned the title of Colonel yet being fairly new to the game. Fedmahn had to start out his career as a lower rank, so I decided , as I am just starting my career in Eve, to take on an earlier version of the legendary character.

I was just thinking the same thing. :)
Personally I prefer Ventrilo. I find it to be a bit lighter on the CPU use, and it has a lot less skipping. Then again my computer needs upgrading.

IMO, Teamspeak is easyer to use...
Always had problems with Ventrilo. Maybe that's just me

Vent sound quality is better than TS ;) It's also easier to use IMO. ---------------------------

Edited by: Dirtball on 27/05/2005 20:07:30 if you know what port forwarding is you can setup Teamspeak in easily less than an hour including download times.
Edit: for free as well
