As many of you are aware, the forums and MyEVE pages were offline for a couple hours today. One of the web servers crashed and the loadbalancing wasn't working as intended. As it turns out, there is a software bug in the server that the network engineers are working on isolating. Other options are being considered in an effort to prevent future occurances.

Not sure if it's any use to you guys but ......
they were down using my MSN explored.
Switched to the normal internet explorer and worked flawlessly during the same time frame.

Actually I heard it was because Maxsuicides account expired today and forum felt like it was not wanted anymore and tried to end itself.

yeah but fun and games aside .
What is ccps intentions of hardware up grading?
the DT server woes are getting more and more common place,
anything past 10k players and the lag is woeful ( actually 9.5k imho)
and still ccp want to add more and more content.
Yes I agree with more content but how is the server lode gonna react as the game is running on a knife edge?

Other option is to jump on the test server - i dont notice lag even when 11k are on. If you hide in 200 member empire systems then yeah it lags but if you in low sec systems with even 20 players its fine.
Sure FAT has been a bit iffy with the whole FIX and Species battles over the FAT system station but that has involved fleet battles with big lag.
Servers are what 1 year old - if CCP have enough funds could be time to upgrade some equipment to handle heavier load. Esp with more players signing up.
