Sorry if this has been covered before but I am trying to find locations of roids other than Veldspar. It seems like everywhere I look that is all I can find. I've check in areas between 1.0 and .6. Is there a skill I'm missing or some equipment? Thanks in advance.

Use the scanner you are provided with when you are in a belt. It will list the ores available. Right click on the one you are interested in and select "Add to overview". Then use the overview to locate the roid.

Even 1.0 belts should have tons of scordite and plagioclase(sp).

Veld is found in every belt. It's usually the biggest thing there, so you just think that's all that's available. Follow the advice of the above to locate the other stuff. The rarer the ore, the funkier and smaller it looks, so that may help you find some others visually.

Also, you can right click on the triangle next to the word 'overview' on the right hand side, and configure what is displayed on your overview. Just tick/untick whatever ore your looking for/dont want to see.

Heres 2 things i can add to this click on the system scanner set it to scan 360 degrees and then set distance to a huge ammount say for example 100000000000000000 it will scan the whole system and display EVERY item in the system if ore is ther it will show up.
And one more note to find ores like omber kermite go to 0.5, problem is the larg minig corps like to mine where it is safe for the basic ores so all the good ores tend to get mined up. So travel around its out there so dont worry.

No it won't, unless the system is *tiny* it will not scan the entire system.

Maximum range of the scanner is just over 21 au... so this is a pile of pap tbh... unless you're in a really small system... like ikvar said (sexeh man).
Also, you can't warp to stuff that's on the scanner, so it's probably best to look through your overview settings and turn on all the ore types in there... that way you can sort the roids by type.... helps finding stuff a lot easier... 
And now i'm going to comit sepukku for giving people advice about mining...

look at the small asteroids, usually the rarer types is small asteroids.

when i put 100000000000000000 i wasant being literal i was just telling him how to scan for ores and i never said you could warp to it through this its just a way of quickly seeing if the system you are in has the ores you want ok

Well then dont say " every item in the system" or shouldn't we take anything in your post as literal?
To kill myths and rumours the scanner scans about 8AU. Yulai is 100+AU.

So bottom line there really isn't any certin system to find say titanium. It could be in anay of them with being in .5 a better chance?

Tritanium is the most common mineral and is found in nearly every, if not all ores.
