Hi, I have idea for getting cruisers back to game. Make battleships operate using fuel. You will need fuel to fly, shoot and use modules. That way you need to make a fuel supply chain to make your fleet running. And defend it.
There will be haulers in game (full of fuel) defended by cruisers during long trip to enemy territory.
Of course it will give bonus to defending force as their supply chain will be much shorter.
What do you think about it?

I think this is something like what they will do for capital ship classes requiring fuel.

yay, all carebears doing missions in niya will spend 1h / week in jita ice mining. In 0.0... no option to buy it, barges in 0.0 - no thanx...

Interesting idea, but it wouldnt boost cruisers becuase inties and assaults would do a better job escorting.

If you want to fly a Cruiser, save your money and train the skills for a HAC.
Make a difference

Blackbird and Caracal will own HAC (except maybe Cerberus). And those are ships even noobs can fly - something good for new members in fleet.
And against intys - destroyers.
It's battleship really a problem for newbies. And usually you have more noobs than veterans in corp.

It's all question of tuning. Fuel doesn't need to be ice-based. It can be anything you need to haul from base to battleship.
This idea makes owning territory important. You can effectively fight only close to your bases so it creates a frontline. No more long battleship rides into enemy territory. Well, not without heavy logistic operation. Enemy can take out your haulers rendering your fleet useless.

So you're saying a caracal and blackbird will own most hacs??? Sure they could jam them but the damage output is laughable, the hac would tank them until it got bored. ------------------------------------------

in general a interesting idea but it wont ballance cruisers and battleships. However the idea is still interesting exept why not make a new fuel tank for all ships which you fill with fueel and as you fly around you use up your rocket fuel make it something you can fil up in space then you can have indy pilots acting as refuling bases. Heh you may even end up having some gates in 0.0 and empire with an indy sitting by a gate witha secure can saying come to me for decent refuling prices at cosmics Garage lol and with the future enabling of repair drone he can even fix your ship while you are refueling lol.

i did not noticed cruisers were out of the game ??
If you circulate around safe space ,u see plenty of them even at choke points.
the great benefit of the cruiser IMO,its a very inexpensive ship, easily replacable easily build, and is a great support for the BS whether for EW or fire power.
U can do pvp with a cruiser with the "nothing too loose attitude" and that is sometime a great advantage over someone afraid to loose his ship.

Cruisers need very few tweaks:
- A bit smaller sig, like 15%-20% less
- A bit faster lock
- A bit better agility
- Couple of extra slots here and there. For the all goodies like EW, nosferatus, autotargeters, extra hards or 2. I would say extra 2 slots should be added to all cruisers
PS NO FUEL

Isotope-based fuel should be a prerequisite for Dreadnaughts, Carriers, and Titans.
Battleships, however, simply need an insta nerf and they'll be relegated to home defense and large-scale battles, with long-distance travel almost requiring untanked travel setups and smaller-ship escorts for the journey. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Nomen and Seto are who I agree with. More agile and harder to hit, and no more instas, et voila, everyone wants to fly cruisers again. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

Caracal can change damage types and Blackbird can fit medium NOS across the high slots. I think that's enough to break a tank. I worry about drones though (maybe ECM burst will do - I dont think drones can relock by themself).
