Hi,
Before the patch I had trouble free playing. Now the computer will restart itself within 5 mins of my logging into eve. If I try maybe 4 or five times to log in it will eventually work and everything is fine.
This is also now effecting offline games in a similar way -the computer restarts within 5 mins of playing the game.
Has any one else had this problem and do you know how to fix it?

I am having the same problem Scotia. I have discovered that turning off the sound enables me to actually stay on. After about 30 minutes of play with no sound I can turn the sound back on and it works for like a day then the problem happens again. If you don't mind playing with no sound then thats what you have to do I think.

hi guys , im haveing a prob too , seems on most occasions when i attack either npc or another ship my pc reboots .
im getting the error message
c:docume1\phantom\locals~1\temp\weredab.dir00\mini060205-o5.dmp
c:docume1\phantom\locals~1\temp\weredab.dir.00\sysdata.xml
ive asked ccp for help and am still waiting for a reply ,my pc only reboots when playing eve though , doom3 and call of duty can run all day with no probs ,
anyone can advise me on this issue id sure appreciate it /

I have only had the hard crash problem when running 2 accounts at the same time, and only under Windows XP w/ SP2. I never had the problem under SP1, and I've check this 3 different times.
But anyways, turning the sound off by disabling it in the config screen did the trick. Soundless, I can run 2 accounts with no problems. Turn sound back on and within 10 minutes I get a blue screen crash and restart. Nasty!

i had paltalk installed on my system , haveing deleted paltalk that stopped my pc rebooting but i still get booted from ccp servers back to my desktop ,
i have found turning my sound off stops me getting booted ,i turn sound back on after 10 mins and i seem ok unless i use drones and torps at the same time then i get booted
seems a common problem though , i have complained to ccp although as usual they dont reply to my question

Scotia, my experience is very similar to yours...I get continually kicked
back to the desktop with 'Server connection lost' every five minutes or so.
This has effectively prevented me from playing EVE for the past week and a half. I've petitioned a number of times with no sensible response. I find the worst part of this is the complete lack of communication from EVE customer support - frankly it is seriously eroding my interest in continuing to play EVE.
Given that I've been an active player for the past year, this is a poor state of affairs...I'm certain a new player would have simply given up
on the game by now.
I'll try disabling sound and see whether that has any effect.

Unfortunately disabling sound has had no effect on my problems...losing the will to live here,
