I am looking at starting a corp, where can i look to see if my potential corp name is already taken and its ticker ?

Try making a corp with that name and ticker or do a search in people&places using the name/ticker you plan on using. |

As Destination said, you can attempt to make the corporation and you will quickly find out if your corporation name/ticker are in use already. You can also search the name and see if the name is taken by a player, corporation, or alliance already.

You can sometimes cheat by either changing letters to numbers, or by adding a period to the name, in case either the ticker or corp name is found to be already taken. You can do this as long as you are not trying to trick people into thinking that your corp is another corp instead (People use this all of time to try and get free isk from people not checking the name they are sending it too). |

Just so you know, corps can have wars declared on them, so player corps will get you some pvp action whether you want it or not. Just so, you know, you aren't surprised or anything. |
