how about adding refine/recycle and repair/repackage to the right click menu in the hangar.
edit for clarity.

nice idea. as for the repackaging i would like to beable to repackage multiples of the same item at once. ie 3x miner 1's or what have you. and have them stacked and neat when they get done being reshrink wraped after all once i get done repackaging every thing all i do is hit stack all (nice feature btw)

To refine or repackage you need certain facilities ie Reprocess, and repair shops. And not all stations have these services.

OK - how about where those services _are_ available, they add a much nicer interface for doing these tasks.
Take courier missions... double click each item to add it. Nice, simple, fast.
It could appear in a table like:
Recycling;
Qty.Name.Tr.Py.Me.Is.No.Zy.Mg.Total ISK value
*should probably add the wastage values as well*
With "Recycle All","Recycle Selected" options
That removed the need for the pop up window and makes it much easier to gain an informative overview of your stock as a whole.
Repackaging;
Name.repair cost.
With "Repair All","Repair Selected","Repackage All","Repackage Selected" options
The current repackaging system SUCKS big time.
The other night, it took me 3 hours just to repackage all our loot to be able to recycle and sell it all!!! WASTE OF TIME!
Come on - get it fixed, you know you want to :)

Desperately needing this feature at stations with repair offices. Items are automatically unpacked before being used, items should be automatically repacked when using the "stack all" option while in the items menu at a station. It's a real pain to have to repack items one at a time.
