Since upgrading to x64 I haven't been able to play EVE, I get between 10 seconds and 5 minutes to log in before the game Blue Screens.
I don't have any compatibility problems with any other game and all my drivers are the most up-to-date available for x64:
2Gb RAM Soundblaster Audigy 2 (latest beta drivers for x64) NVidia GeForce 6800 256Mb (latest NVidia x64 drivers) more hd space than you can shake a stick at
I've tried the usual suspects; cleaning cache folder etc but nothing helps.
Is anyone else running EVE on x64 successfully? or does anyone have any suggestions on how I can log in and play for more than 5 min?
Thanks for any help in advance :)

Funny you posted this, I was about to make a post asking if Eve played nice with WinXP Pro x64 -- since I might be picking up a copy soon. If it doesn't work with x64 I'll stick with WinXP Pro though.
Good luck getting it to work out, let us know what happens. |

I have tried disabling the soundcard and it didn't help. What SoundCard are you using with x64? I'm getting fed up with Audigy2 causing sound issues here and there, even with XP Home 32bit.

You might want to read this. It contains all the information you need to know but, one which a lot of people seem to miss is that it requires 64bit drivers for your stuff. Some people claim to of used 32bit drivers (maybe its running through wow but i doubt it) but the docs clearly state 64bit only. Getting 64 bit drivers can be tricky so you may want to check all your devices with the manufacturers websites first.
Best of luck

All of my PC Hardware is pretty much new and I have installed 64bit drivers for all of my hardware, sadly the soundcard drivers from creative are still in beta, but even with sound disabled EVE still fails.
I wouldn't consider trying to install 32Bit drivers.

Try running in Windows Millenium mode, or Windows 2000 mode useing the compatibility built into XP. Also Install Clockmon set it to 1 min interval with 100ms difference, and try the Omega Drivers for your card, the 64 bit version if they are made. (WWW.omegadrivers.net or .com)
Don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make it's own judgements.

Tried Clockmon but it doesn't appear to be x64 compatible, my system clock is updating itself correctly anyway.
I managed to get a hold of some newer beta drivers for nForce4 and GeForce6800 and they've stopped the immediate BSOD, but now I get instant crashes to the desktop, which if I persist with and try to start EVE will eventually lead to another BSOD :(

I run x64 and Eve is fine.
I guess that doesn't help much.

My money is on a fatal driver problem, but with x64 it is so hard to get alternative drivers.
Ooo... now I have said that, are you using on-board ethernet? If so, check your motherboard drivers are the latest. ______________________________________________

I do use the onboard gigabit ethernet adapter but its part of the nForce4 setup, and the drivers I'm using are the latest nForce unified drivers direct from nVidia.
I might try removing my newest memory blocks and see what happens.

I ran EVE no problem on the x64 - beta release.
Pretty much the same hardware as you except my Gfx is 5800 and my motherboard is ABIT uGuru one.
I didn't update the m/b bios or anything when I had the beta O/S installed.
