Cargo Scan Cost Estimator - sudorandom.com/cargoscanner
I while ago (during the burn jita thing) I made the first iteration of this tool. There were many limitations to the way I made it. It was using a static dump of item prices that had to be manually updated (because I didn't write the tool to do that automatically). It was relatively strict on the formatting (since this is aimed at cargo scans). And really, it needed a refresh.
Example: http://sudorandom.com/cargoscanner/estimate/5768
Feature List:
- Support for more formats: Cargo Scan Results, EFT Formatting, D-Scan, Contracts, Assets Listing, 'All Stuff' column of dingo's d-scan tool
Saved Scans (to share over chat)
- More up-to-date pricing being pulled from eve-central.com and eve-marketdata.com as a backup in case something horrible happens with it. Data is currently cached for 10 hours.
- Capital prices are determined by its component pricing. It's impossible to see a capital ship inside of a cargo hold, but since people sometimes use this to price various things I thought it'd be nice to have that. This will not factor in the cost of BPCs.
- Better scaling down for the in-game browser. It should scale down to a reasonable
- Auto-submit on paste (defaulted 'on' for the in-game browser). Really helps save a few seconds fumbling for the submit button.
- Clicking on the a row in the IGB (in-game browser) opens the market window for that item.
- Open Source: (https://github.com/sudorandom/cargoscanner) Feel free to insult my terrible, terrible code.
Current Issues:
- Blue Print Copies are a problem. There's no way to get reliable prices for them so I just mark those as errors. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
- Named Ships/Corpses (from asset list) show up as an invalid line currently... I'm not sure there's an easy way to fix this. Corpses maybe, but assembled/named ships don't give me anything to go on.
Technologies:
- Flask + uWSGI + nginx + supervisor
- memcached
- sqlite3
- jquery
- Reverence (to grab type information from in-game cache data) (https://github.com/ntt/reverence/)
Feel free to give suggestions/bring up issues. If there's anything you think is sketchy with how the data was parsed out or the pricing seems off send me the permalink and I'll get that fixed if I can. |

Very nice web app! I have a feeling i am gonna use this a lot :)
A few suggestions: Make it possible to set a specific region or system. That would help when for example asking someone to buy the items you want from a specific region or major market hub.
Make an user database so users can look up certain price checks they did in the past and use them again.
Give some kind of indication on the 2 seperate prices that are on the right of each item if that is a sell order or buy order.

Very useful tool, thanks. There's a bug currently, which can mess up the valuation greatly if you use detailed or list view with containers. Because they use a space there as the thousand separator, and evepraisal doesn't expect that to happen, you only get a single item in the parsed list.

Very nice! I will use this a lot
I only wish there was the ability to calculate the value of entered goods if they were to be refined. This would be especially helpful for contracts like this one http://www.evepraisal.com/estimate/145315 where it would take forever to make that many sell orders |
