After getting the latest patch, I have not been able to start EVE at all. When I double click me EVE shortcut, I recieve the following error:
I had a minor issue =/
Minidump generated in C:/EVE/#crash b1105 2003.07.08 23.07.33.dmp Do you want to take a look at this?
I have tried to open it, but apparentally, I don't have the program to do so. I opened it with notepad, but its jsut a bunch of gargled letters and the such.
I have tried to reinstall EVE twice, and each time, it works fine the first run, then thats it, I'll get the error shown above. I would really like some help on this issue, if you need more info about my comp, here it is:
AMD XP 1900+ 512 DDR Pc2100 GeForce 440 MX Turtle Beach SantaCruz Soundcard

Use the logserver when staring, it might catch some more information regarding the problem your computer is experiencing.
Follow the instructions available on theese boards about the logserver and then submit a bug report.
Below you can post some information about your computer. Hardware, driver versions and operating system. Using dxdiag you can also run a diagnostics test on directx. _________________________________________________________

Ok, I asked a question under the support tab, (think thats what i wanted to do). Here are my other system specs as requested:
Geforce 4 Mx 440: Detonator FX 44.03 http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_44.03
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz: Using the drivers which came with the Cd, I've never had a problem with this card, so I doubt its that.
Using Windows XP operating system

I ran logserver, but all it came up with was one entry that blue was running, nothing else, no errors or anything. I submitted a .dmp file that was a product of the crash with my bug repot, cause logserver was useless in this case.

Are the devs looking into this, or am I going to just lose more game time?

LetoII, if that is all you get I don't think you are using the log server correctly.
Read http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=12548 for instructions on how to use it.
Lord Cartman, I take it you succeeded in using the log server to create a log of the error and sumitted this together with other relevant information? If so I am sure someone will be looking into your bug report. _________________________________________________________

No actually, mine does the same thing his did, the program doesnt even start, so theres nothing being captured in the log except for it regonizing the program is trying to start.

Im using the logserver just fine. I was in beta, and know how to operate the damned thing. Im losing valuable playing time, and noone seems to care all that much. My corporation requires my presence, and with all these fricken ctd's and me having to reinstall and patch to the current build, im not very happy. The game doesnt start, there is no EVE logo screen, much less the login. There is nothing for the logserver to catch. It isnt starting. Now, im getting the stupid checksum error for the patches. Is there any actual work being done on our problem? Its obvious that multiple people have this problem, as ive seen more than one topic on this. Sorry to have this post take such a negative tone, but thats what happen when you spend a considerable amount of hard earned money on a product claiming to work.
Now I have fun with EVE, i think its great. But its terrible when i cant play something i paid with what little money i make. Please dont make me cancel a money-pit. I want to play this game.

Ok 4 days now, the only thing I know to do is to reinstall everytime I want to play, and I've had enough of doing that. Iv'e even gone and dloaded the whole thing (Corwin, enpowered player, is helping me more than you devs are!) That still didn't work, what is going on, are you going to even imform us if you are even working on the problem?

follow the steps here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=3720
short version: edit your prefs.ini and add the line dumpflags=1 to get more detailed dump files if the client crashes. then send them in.

Ok, heres how i rid myself of this nasty trash.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.pinfi.html
This site, provided by Symantec was awesome in helping. Turns out that this Parite.B virus is a PINFI virus. You have to edit your regisrty to totally get rid of this, plus make sure to run your anti-virus program in safe mode, as some files cant be disinfected or deleted in regular mode.
