Yeah, I'd say Verone is more likely to use the word pubic than public in any given sentence.

Quite simply, one of the best posts I have seen in a long time.
Didn't know much about SNIGG before other than they were around, but now I know a whole lot more and it's all good baby.

Wow, this in interesting. A pirate corp with the stones to not only enforce a policy BUT admitting on the forums the problems of their members defying this policy. Well played.
This is a prefect example of where openness of corp member transgressions and reperative actions can really rehab a reputation.
I still hate pirates, but "hats off" to you on your honor and apparent PR success. You turned lemons into lemonade on this one :)

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm afraid our current "zero-tolerance" policy only applies to logging off in combat, not mid-warp, for the simple reason that you didn't actually catch the pilot. If you would've had him scrambled or under attack it would've been a different matter.

Originally by: Snigg forums Logging off: Don't do it in combat. Corp members that log while being attacked or log while in warp will face potential expulsion. You can log out at a safespot, or at a random celestial object, but if you're being shot at its NOT an option. This is tough to do...but when you see how many people do it to us, you will understand why I have this policy. Logging off in combat is one of the worst things you can do in EVE.
Not to b***h about it, but the code of conduct in the forums is probably wrong then.. |

Very observant :)
The issue is that neither we nor you can verify if the pilot actually logged off mid-warp, or that he warped to a safespot which was in line. We have a lot of safespots, and most of them will be in line with a gate or another celestial object, so we can never be 100% sure.
Also note that the emphasis of that clause is being put on "logging off while in combat" for aforementioned reasons.

Shinra booted a member who logged out while fighting the CVA and they went up massively in my estimation.
The same goes for S******edly who were already my favourite bunch of pirates anyway

Agree 100% Just wanted to point out the inconsistancy in your post. Anyways, lots of respect for even having these kinds of rules let alone enforcing them

I knew you were, but I sort of forgot to thank you for the heads up while I was busy making coffee and slapping myself to a state of sufficient awareness to make a sensible post ;)
Thanks!

I'll have a chat with him. I don't like midwarp logging either, but its not as bad as logging while scrambled. My guess is that he had a midwarp safespot and logged.

Since somebody else broght this thread back to the front page:
Please do NOT contact me if your story sounds something like this: "Me and my blobby corp were chasing your corp member for 2 hours and then we couldn't find him, and then we found out that he logged out at a safespot!!!"
I don't care. A good rule of thumb would be that if the guy was not on grid with you, or perhaps just not within your lock range, then I don't care.
