I spent 2 hours looking for a battleship spawn in a -.9 system with 12 belts today. Cmon... This is a bit weak. I read NPC hunting would get a boost in the next patch, I really hope this is giong to be addressed. NPC hunting is the most time effective way |

Well, only BS spawns you will ever see in space is in 0.0 belts and 0.0 gates. And that would be REAL 0.0, not empire 0.0

I think you are confusing officer spawns with general belt vermin. General belt vermin dont drop items that sell for 100's of million ISK.
I was recently in 0.0 to chain spawns and I had a hard time finding BS's in the belts.

Yes capt, i want to wait for 30 mins for them to respawn, if they respawn at all... dont forget that LP can convert straight to faction stuff if your paitent.

No, they dont.
I picked up a few large accoms. It's still hardly 100's of millions.

Chaining is still possible if you do it correctly. When I am alone in the belts or with a corp member we chain belts not spawns. We kill everything accept some cruiser and let the spawns respawn whilling killing other spawns.

That last statement makes me question everything in your post. Firstly, I know from experience that with intensive NPCing its only possible to build a BS from loot every 2 days or so - and even then you are missing out on some minerals (as you said, zyd).
And as I said about the last statement - you can't chain commanders or officers. I've tried, many people have tried. It doesn't work. Even if you leave part of the spawn, the commander BS doesn't respawn. So try some honesty there :)
To exlain my post so that you understand:
I hunt 4 hours a day (work and social live prefents me from playing longer) and I usually get arround 4 mil trit, 2 mil pyer, 1 mil mex, 800k iso, 15k nocx, 1400 zyd and 2000 mex. So apart from zyd I almost build an apo every 8 hours (2 days real life, 8 hours gaming time, not counting the time it makes to build it)
The belt chaining tactic was misunderstood aswell. The chain I was talking about was:
Belt A: Tyrant (1,5 mil)
Belt B: Tyrant (1,5 mil)
Belt C: Tyrant + Dual overlord spawn (1,5 mil + 2x 1 mil = 3,5 mil)
Belt D: Dual overlord spawn (2x 1 mil = 2 mil)
(system has 18 belts)
Killing the BS's (and all warpscramblers) and than grabbing can (if no webbers else bookmark can) and moving to next known good spawn belt. This I repeated for a couple of hours and after that I bought myself a new apo (which I lost later on that week but that doesnt matter)
