I don't know. If he drew up some sort of mascot, this might just take off.
I'd personally go the Dora the Explorer route and make a raccoon colored frigate named Griefer.
Then every time Griefer would go to bump a miner, we'd all say 'Griefer no griefing!' three times and wag our fingers at him.
He would then go, 'AWWWWWW MAAAAN' and be off on his merry way.
'Cause that's how it works in game, right? |

That's a great idea!
I'm sure that if all the carebear capsulers would start saying "Griefer no griefing" then all the bumpers and gankers will go away!
