Hello everyone.
I have been trying to find out how to do what everyone calls around here as chain spawning for the entire day now. I was very interested in knowing how to do it to take a break off missions and mining.
However, I have not bee |

Find a spawn in 0.0 that consists of a 750k battleship and a couple of cruisers.
Kill battleship. Leave cruisers (tank them). Wait 10 minutes or so. Battleship respawns.
Rinse and repeat.
Its usually done to improve sec status as 750k |

a) get into a system with rats you're sure you can tank,
b) search the roids for a nice spawn
c) kill everything in the spawn except the escorts,
d) wait for the capital ships to respawn
goto "c)"

Obvious follow up question would be:
What are the escorts and how can I discern them from the rest

anything smaller than what you want to kill are escorts.
Say you have a 2x 1mil battleship spawn 3x 110k cruisers 4x 20k frigates
You'd want to kill the battleships most likely so you kill the frigates (they can scramble so should be primairy target in most cases) then you kill the battleships and if you want 2 of the cruisers aswell.
You just need to leave atleast 1 ship alive for it to respawn. You could also kill the frigs, cruisers and 1 battleship but then you leave the biggest fish of them all.

When I kill the entire spawn and then leave one ship behind, can I leave the belt and move on to another one and do the same thing and then come back to the first belt to get the new spawn? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join 'Hail Caldari!' channel for more info on the Scarlet Harmonic. |

Yeah thats belt chaining. Just make sure that no one else kills your spawn while you "prepare" the belts. Spawns sometimes move randomly to another belt. Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

@_@ The more I read the more I get confused.
1. What's better chain spawning or belt chaining? 2. How long does it take to 'prepare' one belt for chain spawning? 3. In chain spawning one belt, does the spawn start re-spawning a lot faster as time goes by? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God is always on the side with the best artillery. |

1. better to do belts, otherwise you have to wait on 1 belt for the rats to respawn. 2. The time it takes to kill the spawn rats that you are farming. 3. I believe so. Think the first rat respawns at about 15mins then its 10mins after that.. but don't quote me on that.
If you have a system to your self its better. Go through all the belts and weed out the spawns that are no good. ie, if you are only looking for BS spawns, then wipe out all cruiser spawns. Like weeding your garden so the nice flowers can grow! Once you have a couple of spawns going, that should be enough to keep you in constant supply.
Some spawns only have tackler support so when you kill the BS rats, the tacklers keep you scrambled in the belt... That's annoying..

Kyguard, don't feel sad when you are belt chaining and when you return ina belt, the spawn seems to be gone... this is quite normal, as some spawns "time out" (in EVE this would be they warped out). Or your spawn has shifted belts.
So for example you have a system for yourself, you kill a spawn except one of the escort ships. Then you move to the next belt and do the same. And in the next belt you see only a lone frigate or cruiser. DON'T kill it, because that's part of one of the chains you have going. If you kill it, you loose the chain.
If you have any questions, you know where to contact us ;)

So you don't blow up a spawn by accident. Tag the last support ship. You can access the tag option by forming a gang with one of your alts. Then right click the ship and select a tag for it.

What does that tagging actually do or prevent?

Tagging something means that the other persons in the gang see an item or npc with an extra tag sign in the overview. Ofcourse you need to have the "tag column" activated first (right-click the overview, and select settings, it should be in columns somewhere)
This is more practicle then typing or saying on TS, (don't) target the one on the right. You can just say now, ok (don't) target the tagged one.
It is still a bit bugged though, if the gang leader tagged something or someone, the other gang members sometimes need to refresh the overview (by losing it and opening it again).
But basically it brings nothing but a new mark in the overview to see what npc or player the gang leader is talking about.
