A titan is basically a massive indy with all the facilities of a station and the ability to mount 8 mining lasers, I think:P ----------------------------------------------- Shady trader, fence and gentleman extrordionaire.

They can't dock at station cos they're too big, and I believe they will be able to hold other ships, sort of like a massive aircraft carrier

Titans - require the Pilot Titan skill (a rank 12 skill) - cannot be used the same way a station can (you can't dock at it) - are huge

I've heard several conflicting reports from reliable sources concerning Titans. It would be best if we could get an official response regarding them to clear up any confusion. I don't hold much hope tho

There are no Titans in game yet. They will probably be introduced in a later patch. Most people do not seem to realise the size of these things. If you ever wondered why you can zoom so damn far from your ship, well this is another reason. I'm not sure yet if CCP plans to bring Titans to the game before or after station platforms. The amount of minerals required for either is going to be unholy. ------------------

I've seen a titan on chaos, your looking at a ship 4 times as long as the longest indy, the width of 2 long indys length, and heigh of three long indys lengths - in short, they are huge. There was talk or them being able to carry ships as mobile docking stations, now i'm hearing that that won;t happen. They will be capable of fitting mobile jump drives and internal mobile refinerys. I suspect they will also be allowed to build large things such as jump gates. They will be very rare items, blueprints will be limited (if avalible at all) - more than likely I can see them being left derelict somewhere and then agents or events being able to twll u where. They won;t dock at stations and will be uber fun to fly. (info supplyed from beta 7 and early release)

Think of them as mini mobile stations - kinda like an indy - but able to defend themselves - a cross between a battleship and an indy. With station facilities thrown in.

well... now the topic has come to titans. who will fly them, and who will have them first. But before you do... realize that they again have a max of 8 of ever slot, and a wimpy cpu. What should be the biggest and best... is nothing more than a really large, and weak indy. I doubt you will be able to dock with the titan, because of the question: What happens if the person driving the titan logs / is destroyed while your inside of it? So, titans will in effect become nothing more than huge haulers (30000+ cargo) Just think of that with some rare hull modifiers.
Who will be able to fly one? CCP planned for only a handful of these things to ever exist in the game, 10- 15 with only 2-5 on at a time. The skills to fly a titan are about 6 months to train up (batteship 4 or 5 and command 5), then you have the titan skill its self which is a 12x training modifier. So who ever gets the skills to fly a titan, is going to have to dedicate the next few months to training up your flying skills. But... he who is hasty to get in to a titan first, will be the first to die in a titan. I personally think titans should be left out for a long, long while. This game has so many problems and a sever lack of content, that adding the titans would only further screw the game up. ( Would you want to lose a titan to a lag bug or crash to desktop? )

ok basically what we know about titans so far:
they are bigger than battlships but not that big, ie not anywhere near as big as stations.
the devs stated in a dev chat that you cannot dock INTO a titan with other ships and you cannot dock WITH a titan into a station.
Some people have had them (neomorph) etc on the test server and they are just huge statted with 8 of every slot so far although whether these stats will stay in game etc I have no clue.
Those are the facts all else is pure speculation. --

I like the idea of a titan being an aircraft carrier. Perhaps they could bring back frigate popularity by allowing around a dozen to be able to dock. |

Bah You can't dock with them?
In the POTW's they are meant to be the size of small moons for christs sake, and now they are not as big even as a station!?
People wonder what will happen when the pilot logs off?
Well correct me if I'm wrong but uhm...
When you log off now what does your ship do if it's in space?
does it actually do anything?
I know orriginally it was supposed to stay put where you logged out from, and maybe warp around a system or something randomly...
If thats what ships do now, then why do titans have to be much different?
When you log off however in a titan it could just stay where you left it period. all the pilots of the docked ships could dock or undock as normal even if the player flying the beast logs off.
What real point then do internal jump drives serve until you can build your own gates? I mean you can't ferry frigates and cruisers back and forth to a new unlinked system to help colonize it?
HOW LAME LOL.
Oh well thats my two ISK.

skills to fly it the ship itself

Digital Sin, they aren't in the game yet and right now you don't need a skill to fly it. So you going to need to borrow one from someone one chaos. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |
