Edited by: Linavin on 08/06/2005 22:55:00 Edited by: Linavin on 08/06/2005 22:53:30 The basic social skill gives direct a bonus to npc standing increases and connections raises your existing standing. Other than those I believe difficulty of the missions also determines standing gain. So a higher quality agent would give better standing increase. AFAIK thats all there is to help

Yeah, what he said, but i'm not really sure if ur own corp standings towards the npc corp helps or not.

Doing the storyline missions is probably the best way to increase standings.
They come along once every 16 missions assuming you dont decline or fail any inbetween.
Charisma on its own does nothing. It just helps you train skills that help for mission running quicker.

Social skill itself increase the increases as stated above. If i'm wrong in what your asking sorry.
Many people confuse what that skill actually does. it increase the actual percent increase you get per mission completion.
the percent increase is based on mission difficulty and overall effective quality off the agent
Negotiations skill increases the rewards and ISK rewards per mission. I like to be the optimist and think that would also include the standing increase itself but believe that only the social skill does that.
Negotiations may affect overall effective quality so in that regard it would affect the increase being it's based partially on your effective quality with that agent.
mission difficulty, your effective quality, and your social skill lvl are the biggest influences on that.

Do you think race matters any in either actual faction or RP points earned? Or perhaps in the lottery?

No
Atleast I suspect no. In past when in my own corp I did set corp standings to all my agents but did not ever notice any changes/benefits from it.
As stated above. your biggest "faction standing" increase come from only storyline missions but yes they are based on difficulty, effective quality, and social skill.

actually i ment the standing that the faction/corp has with u, not what u set them to. i.e. gallante navy has my friends corp at +5.6, i was wondering if it would enhance my standings increase if i joined them

1) Yes. Better agents give better standing increases. 2) Nope. 3) Has nothing to do with you. Just ignore it. 4) Should cause some change. I don't have eve running at the moment, so I can't recall exactly what. I believe it does cause a % increase after each mission. 5) You mentioned connections. Its good.
It takes a LOT of missions to get great standing with a corp. I've done about 100 or so lvl 3's with an agent, rapidly, and there are some things that are important to keep in mind.
1) You are being paid for even junk missions. They add up. You'll be rich by the time you can use level 4. 2) Important missions give huge faction standing increases as well as big standing increases for whatever corp you are doing the important mission for. Its important to remember that this may not be the corp you are working for right now. My friend got almost perfect standing with hyasyoda corp while doing caldari navy missions. Thats life. 3) Its good to do those lower level missions. You can practice in small ships, pwn in large ships, and have a nice time. Bring along some newbs from your corp and show them a good time to have a lot of fun.
Thats my advice :) ---

thx for the info . that was really helpfull it wont be long now (i think) b4 i can use a +13 lv2 agent, so hopefully this will accelerate me towards lv3's a bit quicker. i do agree that lv2's were fun at 1st .. but after a bit they can become very repetative(sp) and easy.
