Hello, I have been playing Eve for about 3 weeks (and been posting on this forum a decent amount trying to help other noobs).
I joined a corp a few days in, and although they are great guys and have helped me, they are not on when I usually am (they are Europe and I am West coast US).
99% of the time my chat window is minimized becuase there is no one around to talk to.
I hate to leave my corp, but I feel that I need to find a group of people that play during my time zone.
I also want to find a corp that has a decent amount of people that have been playing roughly as long as I have (so that we can both learn and have fun) rather than some corp memeber with 10mil sp flying his BS 15 jumps to help me out:)
I am not looking for any type of corp specificly, just a corp with a decent amount of active members in a pac time zone (or near that), and some other noobs to fly with.
It would be nice to do some gang lvl 2 combat missions, mine, and so on.
If you are just a solo noob, send me a tell, or an eve-mail and we will hook up.
If you are a corp looking for another noob to join, send me an eve-mail as well.
Thanks, Tombert

Edited by: Neue Regel on 08/06/2005 20:49:52 I am in the same boat that you described. I had a friend talk me into this game. I was playing another, Asherons Call, and was happy there. He talked me into playing and has left the game, or at least I havent seen him in three weeks online. So I have no one to chat with either.
I too have the chat minimized most of the time. I like the game, but it is teribly boring for me too. I mine and mine and haul and haul. I created my own Corp to get a corp hanger and see how a corp works. I am not asking you to join the corp because it doesnt have what you want, I am the only player in it :). But I in interested in chatting about noobie stuff if you want.

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 08/06/2005 21:19:27 You should both post these posts in the recruitment forums and talk to the guys that will reply there carefully.
there are lots of US timezone players in eve, and as such lots of corporations with at least some people online at your time most of the time. Some of the goodcorps are so socially active and fun to simply be in that you could find yourself logged in but doing nothing except talking ingame, on irc or on teamspeak for hours.
It should be doable enough to find one that is socially active and not a collection of semi-solo players that just share a chat. As for hopping corporations, I've just needed to change corp once in two years, but I've been extremely lucky I guess. Chaning corporations isnt something you need to avoid, as long as you dont overdo it like some, and as long as you dont start abusing them for handouts and help too much.
Your reputation is one helluva important factor when you want to stick around in eve. Most longer established corporations will do background checks on new members, and very bad references can get in your way if you're careless. _______________________________________________

I posted this here becuase I really want someone with a similiar amout of sp to hang with (so one of us doesn't feel like we are holding the other back or doing things that are to easy).
Regel, I am came from Asherons Call too!! I played on Darktide for over 3 years:)
We should definetly hook up, it would be nice to chat and play with someone with similiar a background.

doesn't really help, I guess Neue Regel is german, so the timezone still isn't the same
Neue, just join a german corp, there are some around. "willkommen bei Eve-Online, und halt die Ohren steif"
AND I'M NOT GERMAN *slaps everyone who thought that*

Neue Regel is a song by a popular US band called Queensryche, i like the song a lot and I used this name in the other online game I play. From what the song inplies, it means New Order. I am not sure what could be wrong with that.
How anyone can call themself Kal'Zera is beyond me!!!null

i've been playing a little over a month and felt kind of the same. I just started my own corp and it has 3 members, my 3 characters. I've got a commander that is the furthest along, currently flying a vexor and doing npc hunting in belts, generally around Egghelende (or something!?!) where my HQ is.
I play mountain time zone (-7:00) usually after work and on Sunday/Monday (days off). Hit me up and we can do some hunting together.

Sorry if I have offended you, friend. It is just that it actually means 'new rule' and not 'new order' as I understand it. What you mean I would translate with 'Neue Ordnung' or 'Neuer Orden'... but hey, after all it is your name! And in german if you speak it as a native speaker it sounds strange... I see now however where it came from.

There are alot of corps who pride themselves in recruiting new players not just to use them for mining and such, but to increase the number of friends online. Terracor is one of these, they have changed the game play for alot of players ingame. Weither you use them to help learn how to get on in the game, or the get connections with others. Consider contacting someone from there, they are nice lads and worth giving a chance.

Well, I'll put my two cents in here as well. In light of the recent influx of new players, and to give me something to do, I have left the Stain Alliance and moved back to empire space in an effort to give new players somewhere to go other than starter corporations.
Join Nurfed Incorporated today! We are the stepping stone between new player and veteran. With close ties to all aspects of the game, we can give you somewhere to be while you train, and when you are ready to move on, we have contacts for other corps in most aspects of the game. Wanna be a builder? We know a strictly builder corp. Wanna be a 0.0 PvP'er? We got the hookup there as well. Into researching or agent running? Gotcha covered.
Send Tymeran an Eve-mail today! All will be responded to.

I'll add the corp I recently joined into the mix as well. Nova Syndicate, HQ in Elgoi, several active US west coast players (myself included). Most of us a few weeks to two months old. Exploring the game together can be a lot of fun.
