would someone be kind and helpful to me by answering these questions. :D
1. On the map, there appear to be areas of space that are "seperate", in the sense that there is no jumpgate path there linking it to the rest of the galaxy? Whats that all about?
2. Does this mean possibly that the jumpgates can be destroyed?
3. What is the difference between a corporation and an empire? Is it litterally that a corporation becomes so power that it turns into a empire?
4. and finally, how does one take over a system for themselves :p
Thanks in advance.

I'll answer what I can but I'm fairly new myself.
1: uh no everything is connected, it just isn't blatantly obvious sometimes. I ran across this a bunch of times myself trying to get to a 'seemingly' close star only to find out it's actualy 15 jumps away >.>;;;
2:As far as I'm aware they are too massive to be destroyed and for a good reason. If they were destroyable it's possible you could strand your fleet somewhere with no way to get home. not something I think they'd let happen in a game like this.
3: Ok from what I can tell Corps are not Empires, they might call themselves that but the only 'empires' are the four races and what they 'own'.
4:Can't help you there, sorry. I havn't the foggiest if you even can.

5: I 'think' the regions are base areas each race has influence. But again not clear on that one.

no, there are definatly areas of the map completely seperate from other connections, check top right of the map.
And their are definatly human controled empires, in addition to the origional 4 npc empires.

1. The upper right area of the map is controlled by the "Jove" and as far as i know it is unreachable(sp) by any jumpgate
2. afaik they can't be destroyed
3. a corp is anywhere between 1 and 50 ppl, a empire consists of more then 200 ppl i do believe
4. afaik it isn't possible to take over a single system, Their are Player owned Stations out in 0.0 space that change ownership quite frequently so i guess that might be considered owning a system

what about the single systems, that are controled by an empire? (Take the "smash" empire, to the far south).

1. Yes, there are inaccessible regions. Something for the future ...
2. No, except by CCP.
3. The empires are NPC nations defined by CCP. There are also NPC factions other than the 5 great empires. Corporations are, well, corporations. Some are NPC corps that are part of an empire or faction, some are autonomous player corps. Player corporations can form alliances among themselves.
4. If your alliance has a plurality of starbases (aka POS) in a system that is not claimed by NPCs, you can claim sovereignty over it. Currently this does nothing except mark it on the map, in the next patch there are several consequences.
5. Regions are groups of constellations (which are groups of systems) set by CCP. An NPC faction may control one or more regions or a part of a region. For instance, the Caldari State holds Lonetrek, The Citadel, and The Forge. The Khanid Kingdom holds Khanid. Mordu's Legion holds some systems in Pure Blind. |

It means you havent got enough isk to buy the item you wanted to buy. So the transfer doesnt go trough. So you have no debt and no item. You should get used to funny messages like this. The devs have their own kind of humour sometimes..
