Edited by: Bagdh Dearg on 10/06/2005 17:32:36 Hey there,I'm currently Training up Caldari Cruiser 5,not for Eagle or Cerb(Though I intend to get one in the end) but for the Basilisk.
My Question is to anyone with Expierience in these ships,(Not just Basilisk but any Log. Ship)
What kinda situations do these ships come into their own?
What kind of set-ups do you use that lets you keep the majority of your group healed?(2Shield 2 Armour Remotes or all shield etc.)
How do you think the new Patch will effect your Setups,Drop a repairer for a Launcher and so forth?
Any opinion from Log. Pilots or anyone who has any knowledge in this area would be much appreciated. _______________________________________________ An tÚ nach bhfuil lßidir nÝ folßir d¾ bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

the problem is they can't do anything better than a battleship can, except long range assistance. and they need high skills. and are expensive.
also you can't mount weapons to them fyi.

Stay away from logistics ships until CCP boosts them...they are a huge waste of time and money atm.

The Gallente one (Oneiros?) looks pretty kewl... other than that i don't see any perticular reason to fly them before CCP boost's them a bit. :)

despite many complaints me (well, mainly a friend of mine) decided the caldari one has some good uses, but the way we figureed you'd use it would be bookmarked as a warp to refuel point so to speak, raven fleet, basilisk at bookmark with full set of gistii shield transporters (small are v efficient, and cheap -ish), the reason you warp out to it is that it's gonna be the first thing to die in a fleet battle, either that or lvl4 mission escorts...but i'll agree, at the moment ccp need to boost the usefulness -----------------------------------------------

CCP supposedly is giving them quite a boost with the next patch. I believe they are gaining some weapons abilities and a relatively strong tank. I cannot remember for sure as I have not had ample opportunity to use SiSi lately. ---

yeah, i heard they where basically getting some truly insane resistances to compensate the fact they aren't (generaly) going to be 'tanking' themselves -----------------------------------------------

I think thats a good fix for that ship. Increase survivability, let the players discover better ways to utilize it afterwards. Besides, picture a bunch of armor tankers running around a complex, while a basilisk runs around restoring their shields to give them that extra buffer of defense. I've always liked that picture in my head, but the training time has been quite a turnoff. ---

I know you cant atm but I heard they'll be getting a launcher or two Hardpoint in the next patch.
Also I have it already bought along with 4 Med. t2 Transporters but what can ya do
That refueling station sounds pretty cool though a Covert Ops ship and an Intie duo could find you and toast you if they were to dedicate the resources. I read they were getting 2/3rds(fraction) the resistences of the HAC's aswell as a PG/CPU boost,Hence why I bought it now as if they become useful they will more then likely go up in price.
In a Level4 mission or Complex could a Basilisk setup for Shield Recharging keep a Tanked Scorpian there indefinatly?

Aye it was the upcoming patch that I decided to stop vacilating and just get the damn thing. Always play a support role in all my Online games and been waiting for the ship to come into its own before taking it on here. _______________________________________________ An tÚ nach bhfuil lßidir nÝ folßir d¾ bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

I'm thinking of investing in one myself. Could anyone be so kind as to post a good fitting for the Caldari or Amarr ones?

Edited by: Fuazzole on 23/06/2005 18:38:25 Edited by: Fuazzole on 23/06/2005 18:38:05 for the osprey II
5 slots for cap charge
+75% cap use from logistics +25% cap use from skill +3% from a cheap hard wire
cram on 6 gistii small shield transporters that are always in escrow for 2mill
over time maybe good, but boring as a Dom is also good and has drones to play with
amar's energy transfer would be very welcom
also serv's a nice bullet magnet in times of war

Oh and Shield/Armor Hp and resists would be cool too!

Edited by: Darkslayer on 23/06/2005 20:53:00 Basilisk is already excellent for any lvl4 deadspace missions combined with a raven. Bring a friend and you can do the guristas extravaganza and angel extravaganza lvl 4 bonuslevels as well.
3x medium named shield transfer 1x small named shield transfer 1x small energy transfer 1x cloak
2x cap recharger II 2x medium cap battery II
1x cap power relay
logistics 4 shield emissions 4 energy management 4 energy ops 4
With this setup you can run the 3x medium shieldboosters continously and add the small when things get just a bit tougher. With medium S95a's you get 576 boost/5 seconds, up to 51km away, with the small named running you get past 600boost. Then energy transfer is used to keep the armageddon(s)/apoc(s) tagging along sometimes.
With the new changes I can imagine adding another cap power relay, drop the cloak and energy transfer. Add another medium shieldtransfer and two standard/assault launchers to kill frigates.
The Gallente logistics ship will likely become even more popular as people start switching to turrets, armortanking ships, after patch. This because of missilepatch, making raven unsuitable for soloing missions.

Thnx Darkslayer.
I guess from your post that post-patch the Basilisk will have an extra low slot and more grid & CPU?
Cheers for the info anyway.
