So im siting in a station pickung up a blueprint off another player when local starts flashing...
being the nosey type i click on it to find..
"Robotek Hybrid" discussing with his friends "Who we going to kill then?"
Intrigued I cary on watching (only) Robotek's side of the conversation as they gun-up ready to out killing.
Got to love the way Local picks up anything and everything - god only knows where Robotek was or what channel he was talking in - surely its about time this got fixed... last night it was displaying the weather forecast for Queensland, Australia and then "Womans Hour" from Radio 4 in the UK.
(OK so only the Robotek is true)

a bunch of ppl think i am crazy b/c i pick up local chats very very easily apparently from m0o infested systems. I go nuts and start chatting on local about m0o.. every1 else thinks i'm a nut

Even though it's a complete pain in the arse when it comes to finding out exactly who is in your system, I rather like this bug. It's like having a shortwave radio.
If some people knew that their conversations were being picked up on the other side of the galaxy they'd be a little less...er...outgoing. There really are some freaks travelling the spacelanes of Eve.

I had a local chat with 96 people in it once, the only other person that was REALLY in the system was in my corp, he saw only me and him. werent that fun, 20 half conversations.

I see this all the time.. local chat starts having 200+ people in and start lagging the game.. I relog and get maybe 10 in system, its quite annoying and confusing if you in the middle of something heptic.

140 for me last night in local, which was interesting.
O - and the other day, i got another Corps corp channel in our corp channel as well...
Very interesting reading.
And now i bet you all crapping your pants thinking "does he know??? - was it us???"

Using auto pilot produces this bug, if you have auto'd to a system and back again the local chat from your orig destanation keeps on displaying in local!!!
Relog is only way to cure it, or dont use auto pilot :P.....

Actually, I found that if you switch from window->full screen or full screen->window mode, that'll clear out the local bug as well. This will also clear out all the stuff that was said up until the point you switched modes.
Our system usually has 3 or 4 people in it, yesterday I had 142. It was great.
