There's only so much that looking at skill plans for ships can do for a player who's fallen somewhat out of touch with the game. However, I've decided just recently that I wanted to restart my seemingly short EVE "career" (three years of on-again, off-again activity) with a fresh, new character.
I already have a general idea of what I want him doing. The problem I seem to be facing is, what's the best early-stage money-making profession? I want to be able to fund my game time entirely through PLEX as enough time passes. |

The only reason I could see to waste previously accrued skill-points on an old alt that was "On again, off again" would be if they were:
A) Associate with someone/group that will make life difficult for you moving forward. I like Goons but if having that in your corp history is going to cause every tinfoil hat to scream profanities at you when you look to join their corp, I can understand biomassing a small amount of SP.
(Who am I kidding, no I wouldn't. I'd abuse the shite out of having that in my corp history. BOO. I'M GOING TO BLOW YOU UP WITH MY MIND, BECAUSE I HAVE THIS CORP HISTORY. IT GIVES ME MIND POWERS. NO, NOT MIND POWERS IN MY MIND, IN YOUR PSYCHE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS? I'VE ALREADY WON!!!)
B) The previously acquired skillpoints serve no purpose whatsoever. You literally trained a pointless skill and then stopped playing. I somehow doubt this was the case, but if you're trying to go from mining to PVE/PVP this might be justifiable (though not really. You'll probably need those mining skills someday for an Awox or something.)
C) You don't want to have an old, outdated character or your name is terrible and you think you can do better. In that case, just use a second slot on the account and pause that one. Old alts are useful for scamming / dialoguing in hubs / forum warrioring.
D) You messed up early on and got your sec status or reputation with an NPC faction to a degree you consider unreparable.
E) There is no E. The E is a lie.
So to TLDR (though I think some of that **** is funny, so you should read it.), why would you bother biomassing and not continue on that character? Lestatra: Eve is now fully committed to pvp . |

Get a strategic cruiser. Run complexes in wormholes and null. Don't get popped. That's about as easy/"early stage" as you get. It takes skill to do it "safely". Wait you want to win the game right at the beginning, with no skills (and thus time invested) at all? Not happening. |
