Heya just got the bpo for the bb and wondering what mods bpo's i should get for it.
Highs im thinking Fof heavies dunno about the rest :/, so any setups would be appriciated, remeber this is for large engangments, so no tanking is really worth it
cheers Az

To be honest, I think it depends what other ships are going to be on your side in the engagement.
I dont think a BB has enough mid slots, grid/cpu to run a full EW setup, I usually use mine to specialize on jamming two races, webbing/scrambling, or sensor dampening.

3x heavy missile launchers (2 widowmaker, 1 havoc), 1x medium Nos
1x 10mn AB, 1x warp disruptor, 4x multispectrals
2x cap relays
Easy, cheap, effective.

Thanks Remedial, looks about right :)

FoFs do less damage than normal missiles and are used as a backup if you get jammed.

Multispecs arent too effective in my experience, go with either racial jammers or sensor damps i reckon.

If you mount 1 of each racial instead of four multis and have no sensor dispersion skill, your total dampening power against any ship is 6 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12. With four multispectrals your total power is 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16.
While they take more cap, multis are 25% more effective than a mixed racial jammer setup unless you specifically know what kind of ship(s) you'll be fighting.

One multispec will jam any ship, some of the time, with the "wonderful" chance based jamming system we have now.
I don't know if it was just me that didn't notice, but at some point named multispecs started dropping, with strengths of -4.2, -4.4 etc.

This is a setup I'm fond of.
Highs 3 heavy launchers (kenetic missles, what ever their name it) 1 medium nosterafu
Meds 4 multipecs 1 sensor booster 1 mwd
Lows 2 cap relays
there are some tweeks to this setup of course, You could swap the mwd out for another jammer for 5 multipecs and you could get rid of one of the heavy launchers for an assult launcher with defenders.
Also about jammers, the named jammers are great, but avoid the tech twos. the tech twos give as much jamming stringth as the best named, but use more cap.

erm... jammers dont stack no more, where u been since last patch? they hav chance based, so 1 multi spectral has a chance of jamming anything --------------------------------------------

With level 5 fof missiles you do the same damage with fof as you do with normal missiles, since they also get the normal missile damage bonus ontop of the fof damage bonus.
Still not practical to use them as a primary though since you don't get much control over what they go after.

That's 12/X and 16/X where X = sensor strength of the enemy ship. So if the enemy Armageddon has 17 sensor strength, you have about a 12/17 chance of jamming him with one setup and a 16/17 chance of jamming him with the other. erm... jammers dont stack no more, where u been since last patch? they hav chance based, so 1 multi spectral has a chance of jamming anything

They don't work like that. Each module has an individual chance to jam, like he said, they don't stack.
E.g. in your example:
Chance to not jam a geddon using 1 multi =
1 - 4/17 = 13/17
Chance to not jam a geddon using 4 multis =
(13/17) ^ 4 = 34.2%
So chance to jam a geddon using 4 multis = 1 - 0.342 or 65.8%.
Chance to not jam a geddon with the correct racial =
1 - 6/17 = 11/17
Chance to not jam a geddon with the incorrect racial =
1- 2/17 = 15/17
Chance to not jam a geddon with one correct racial and three incorrect racials =
11/17 * (15/17)^3 = 44.4%
Chance to jam a geddon with one correct racial and three incorrect racials = 55.6%
If operating in empire, carrying 4 of each racial with you and refitting as required is ideal, but of course this isn't always possible. Racials also have a greater useful range than multis. Good intel is key to an EW pilot's success nowadays.

Well I just built myself a BB so I'm no expert, but if you're in a large fleet battle would the following be any use:
Hi: 2 x Assault launcher, rocket launcher - all loaded with defenders
med: 5/6 x multi racial, sensor booster/AB II/cap booster/cap recharger.
lo: 2 x cpr
I was just thinking that you'd be a prime target in a large engagement so you'd need to keep the spammers off your back long enough for your fleet to reduce the attackers to dust. The rocket launcher would be the primary defender and the assaults would augment when the rocket is reloading. I've never been in a fleet encounter, but if I was then I'd think about something like that.

BB can be used for other stuff, like remote sensor boosting, tracking boosting, remote armor repair etc.
Its a real Multitool with all those medslots. [email protected] or -6@20k scramble strength, anyone ?

PVP as in 1 on 1? Or fleet battles?
If you aim to help your fleet go with the following:
high: never mind, you are not a damage dealer, something to take care of tacklers like NOS. med: 1 sb, 5 dampers or multis low: 1600mm tungsten, cap relay I (you need that cap)
This way you can help your fleet, any other setup and they will cut trough you like trough butter.

You might wanna dump that mwd altogether considering that you can jam out to phenominal distances with the right skills anyway
Hi: 3 x Heavy Launchers, Med Nos Mid: Sensor Booster, 5 x Multi/Racial Jammers (keep a change in yer hold) Lo: 2 x Cap Pow Relay
The only time you might want the MWD and scrambler is if you are alone, but then again a support ship like this shouldn't be alone, its desgined to help people kill without the risk of being shot at themselfs...
