Just found this dangerous situation. I been waiting about a week to update my clone. I know im about to pass the number for needing a better one. However, while the individual skill point number for the skill I am training is going up, the category total is not, nor is the overall total.
I just found out the cagegory and overall only update when a skill is stopped, and perhaps when one is started. So this 18day skill has me quite a bit over the limits of my clone without knowing it because my point total has not increased
Its good to know. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

Its always been that way, far back as I can remember anyhow. Just cancel the skill you're currently training, and immediately start training it again. The SP total updates, and you know exactly where you are.
Otherwise, use the Eve Character Manager. Best thing since sliced bread...

That or just switch skills then back to the original one ;)
It updates whenever an event occurs (training complete, change of training, cancel)
Also, a little off topic, but has anyone noticed that the sec status shows "0.0" when you logon if you have it open/minimized when you logoff...? I know, closing it then re-opening it updates it, but that aint the point :P

Just posted this in another topic but it is as relevenat here.
This is due to the way that the skills are trained. It appears that on the server the start time of the skill is recorded and when you log back on it calculates if it should have been completed - whether there was an account stoppage in between or not. This is why even if a skill has completed before you log on the evemail is sent at log-on time. This is also why the total skillpoints do not increase in the skill being trained until it is stopped.

The above is correct and widely known.
Anyway, common sense dictates that you buy a clone with some SP in reserve.
If you are training electronics 5 and have 900k SP then you are not showing confidence in your life expectancy if you buy a 1mill SP clone.

If you look at the skill you are training at the moment, it says hown many points you have learned so far. That's how many points you have learned at the current level so far. Just add those points to your total and you have your total numbers. __________________________________________________________ Knowledge is when you don't know what you don't know. |
