The sheer creative spark that is this feat of video game engineering? None of the above. As it turns out these forums have the most unique collection of truly intelligent people, standing beside complete a**holes and topped off with a mass of truly uneducated fools. A very unique combination that is ulike any other forum that I have happened on to date. I like to argue debate, history, science and various other irrelevant trivia in my spare time. I have tried my hand at dedicated philosophy forums, physics forums and debate forums only to realize something very interesting and unexpected... these forums present the greatest challenge and amusement. A strange combination of people who actually know what they are talking about combined with complete tools who have no clue, but yet continue to insist that they hold god's truth on all matters big and small. It makes for a uniquely hard debate and I find it very stimulating. Also, I have found that these forums function as a "better then best buy" geek squad for all things computer related. My latest computer purchase was from Main Gear and is a CGI-graphics-arts-beast with an i7, 16mB of ram and a Nvidia 580 3gb video card. The video card is old yes, but perfect for computer graphic rendering bench marks do to it's v-memory and Cuda cores. A friend from eve online introduced me to Main Gear (the best damn company I have dealt with to date) and someone on these forums clued me in to why an older video card would be far superior for CGI rendering. The cost of the rig from main gear was far less then what it would have been if I had built it myself. I probably saved a years worth of EVE subs on the discount they gave me on an old (and overly expensive) video card. So yes... The value of these forums are worth a meager $15 a month that I will never even notice being deducted from my credit card. Even though the game play of EVE Online has gone down the crapper, and the forums are filled with unwashed and poorly moderated masses, it does provide a singular and unique experience none the less.
