As we all know CCP stated thousands of times that a player can log of whenever he wants and it is no exploit to log of - correct?
So if it is NO EXPLOIT to log of in combat...how about a tanked BS that instaganks a hauler in a 1.0 belt...and logs of??? As CCP stated so often "a player can log of at any time" how can it be a exploit to log of???
Hm, very confusing...

Dunno if its illegal to do that, but the flag will remain and when you log back on, Concord will gank you.

Not if you log back on 20mins later, as that is how long the flag lasts for. No difference between waiting at SS or waiting logged off (ship dissapears in SS).

It is an exploit to avoid CONCORD in high security. No matter what you do, your ship *has* to die.
The problem isn't logging off. Its not dying when you log back on.

I believe the timer pauses or resets when you're logged off. So that won't help.

The timer is supposed to reset when you log off. Which means you have to lose your ship when you commit a crime in concord protected space. I would guess that not doing so could be considered an exploit.
So in other words, its not logging off that is the exploit, its not losing your ship. Log off all you want, so long as you eventually end up in a pod.

You can avoid getting pwnd by concord in 1,0
I remember using a kestrel and pwning a bantam at kisogo belt
then just warp from planet to planet and moon to moon and the concord wont catch you

I know, i know...but how comes? CCP stated that log of in combat is no exploit! 2 rules that dont fit to each other
I have several GM-mails where those GM state that "a player is allowed to log of at any time...blabla".
Quote: Dont concord insta appear and warp scramble u?
Yeah...they like to do this. But being aligned to a 150 AU safespot can really help...and Concords are not that fast gankers as people expect Concord to be. A good tank can survive it. Having 2-3 Ibis attacking before also confuses Concord very much. Concord is not able to fight more than 5 targets same time...lol
Quote: The timer is supposed to reset when you log off
sure, sure...but after next downtime you are clear for your next gank

Edited by: Avon on 14/06/2005 08:56:04 To be fair, CCP can't make you stay online and play - but the new 30 minute log-off timer will fix the situation that is being discussed here.
If Concord currently forget about you after DT, that is CCP's fault. CCP have stated countless times that you can log off whenever you want. They also said it is an exploit not to die to Concord.
However, if Concord fail to kill you because they have a bad memory, who's fault is that? ______________________________________________

I just want to make sure that a CCP checks their rules...how can log off be an exploit for pirates and not be for carebears? A carebear logs of in battle and tanks for example our 4 friggis for 2 minutes and then disapears - poff. And a pirate logs of, tanks Concord for 2 minutes...and poff...disapears. How can the one be an exploit and the other not? CCP should sort this out or finally fix the whole problem with a working game mechanism.

In one case, you trigger an NPC responce. Evading NPCs = generally considered to be an exploit, especially in 1.0

Tried it yet, btw?

Also, this topic is silly. Not dying to concord in 1.0 will get you banned no matter what justification or arguments you use :)

0.9 for example, how are these little bugger NPCs called there??? You did post that you are not allowed to log of if you caused a NPC action, Dissi.

Nah, wonŠt send you. And a aligned Tempest would do this job better than a smartbomber. We will never log of anyway...but this question to CCP is simply funny

Lifewire are you really this stupid or are you just acting?
Other people and I have already said it. Logging off is not an exploit. Somehow avoiding CONCORD in high sec is the exploit. You could warp to the gate and jump to low sec, it would still be an exploit. That doesn't mean people can't warp to gates and jump to low sec when CONCORD isn't trying to kill them.
And yes I know for a fact that it is possible to avoid CONCORD. It is still an exploit.

No i am not stupid...i wouldnt avoid concord...i would log of (which is no exploit) The log of timer is 2 minutes...i would survive this. Concord would not try to attack me 1 day later...so: how do i avoid Concord if Concord does not attack me next day??? So who is stupid??? Maybe CCPs rules?

Dum de dum.
Just found this...
Originally by: CCP If you commit an act of aggression and trigger the wrath of CONCORD then you had better run if you donŠt want to risk losing your ship. Whether the aggression was intended or not, when CONCORD arrive on the scene they will exercise their well known tactic of shooting first... and eating space donuts later.

So CCP wants us to run??? Avoiding Concord on the other hand is not allowed. What a mess. If CCP wants to be professional then there shoul be clear rules.
So this is all very confusing. Log of is not an exploit and i should "run" when Concord is angry on me...
