I am wondering if someone can help meGǪ
My friend has been running missions and killing Gallente. He now wants to do RnD with Roden Shipyards (Gallente). His standing is, of course, -2.5ish. He would like to eventually get access to Level 4 Roden agents.
I would like to help him out.
I have a standing of 8ish with Roden.
I say that if we fleet and run Roden missions together, eventually, he will gain access to lvl 4s.
He says, it wonGÇÖt make a difference how many missions with Roden he and I run fleeted, he can ONLY get access to lvl 4 Roden by first running GÇ£Faction RepairGÇ¥ mission types.
Who us right?

Easiest way to find out would be to check the agent's info tab. It should tell you what standings (corp and faction) and science skills you need to get access to the agent. In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has angered numerous people for many different reasons and is widely considered as a 'bad move'. |

See here. Relevant section:
Quote:Standings Requirement: Research agents have both the normal standings requirement for an agent of their Level and Quality, as well as the requirement for Corporate or Personal standings at 2.0 less than the normal standings requirement.
In practice, however, this additional restriction rarely comes into play, since attaining the required Corporate standing automatically fulfills the lower requirement, and Personal standing can not be modified (except with skills). The secondary limitation, therefore, exists only to prevent those with high Faction standing from accessing top-level researchers without actually working for that corporation.
tl;dr: You're right, you can drag his standings up for Roden and it will work. In fact, research agents aren't helped out by faction standings the same way other agents are. |

He's right. You need faction standings higher than -2 to access any agent higher than lvl1. |

Goose is right -- faction has to be over -2 and the only way to get it there is storylines. Beyond that, though, you can pump up Roden standings together. So yeah. |

Yeah, Research Agent requirements for access state a minimum and a maximum amount of standing is needed.
Basically if Faction standing is at the max amount, only the minimum amount of Corporation standing is needed. However, since your Faction standing is low, it needs to be above -2.00 standing along with the max amount of Corporation standing listed to access the Research Agent.
Besides doing regular missions + storyline to raise the Faction standing, you can also complete missions for Event Agents to gain Faction standing.
