Morning,
Quick (most likely stupid) question on a Tuesday morning.
I'm currently using cruise missiles on my Rattlesnake. I currently let my drones take out the small, faster NPCs. I use my missiles to assist with the bigger ships. Would people recommend reverting to Torps rather than cruise or is the general concensus that cruise rule over torps still hold out?

torps dont do much more dmg than a cruise. cruise got like 1000% range. when you will only get 20 km out of a torp it might be to difficult for some missions |

You get almost double the damage out of torps that you do from cruises, range would be the major issue so is depends what range the rats you're fighting are at. |

I'd combo Sentries with Cruise. Those work best at 40km+ (depending on sentry type), which is already pushing it for Torps despite the range bonus. And targets at the edge of missile range are just infuriating. And Cruises are much easier to use in general anyway, less TP and volley juggling required.
I might put Torps on a Rattler with Heavies, but I wouldn't use those unless I'm being close-range swarmed so hard the Sentries can't do their job. Even then, I'm not sure the raw damage numbers outweigh the damage application difficulties on a boat without a TP bonus. |

So you just comment on topics you don't have any experience with? Makes sense.
I use a Rattlesnake with torps and range rigs. T1's are good for around 40km and javelin's can reach out to 60ish. Really I only use them on battleships & battlecruisers. When the officer drone amps make their way to the market having any missile system fitted will be sort of pointless. Considering you will be able to do near Golem dps with just sentries. |

I put cruise on mine. You should be using T2 sentries with at least 3 drone damage mods, 2 omni's, 2 drone links.. this will give all the range and dps you need.. the sentries will probably kill the BS 40+km away before your cruise missiles get there. |

For mission running, torps = Golem, trying to make torps work with any other ship is a waste, you will use up to many slots/riggs trying to make torps not useless. Stick with cruise (or lower perhaps), you will have better range with better damage application.

4 DDA's, 2 federation omni-links, Sebo, MWD, 2 drone DLA's in the highs. Your sentries willl hit anything anywhere.
