My idea to help prevent ore thiefs goes like this, if someone takes something out of a can without the owners permission they should be (for maybe 20seconds or until they get a certain distance from the can) branded a 'Thief' in which during this time other players are allowed to destry there ship (no pod kills) without interferance from concord.

I'm not trying to be snide or rude, but I will be blunt:
This is the 2000th post with that same suggestion.
I'm serious. Exact same suggestion.
CCP has said they're considering it, which is a change from when they said that jetcan mining is not what they had in mind for those cans, its the miners who were abusing the cans, not the thieves.

I have to agree with siri here m8, as far as i know jet cans where never ment to be used as an aid to mining, ccp could get rid of all the probs with theft by reducing the size of jet cans to about the same as a the ship you jeetesoned it from from.
But oh yeah that would make mining more difficult and i guess there are more miners than ore theives, so its probubly a no go idea too, TBH im just glad theres someone lower than pirates in this game

Two easy ways to prevent ore theft:
1: Don't use unsecure cans to mine.
2: Have a buddy nearby in a big ship to take the stuff out of the can, and have him ferry it over to the nearest station.

It is like dropping your jewels on the street before your house and return two hours later and then complain that someone took them... honestly... erm I would not blame the thief... I would say: How stupid.
