So my paladin with 4 mp and 2 scripted tracking computers could not kill 1 sansha beast-lord. 15min it took to finally pop it. I think the sansha tracking disruption is broken. Because even when it had lost a disruption cycle my guns would not hit after the initial disruption. I am maxed skilled when it comes to tracking and marauders. And will be swapping back into my golem for time being. but damn Sansha seem broken to hell for a turret ship. |

Beams against Sansha.
TD effect is as far as I have seen purely range which explains why your pulse had such a hard time. Note, that even with Tachyons you will experience long periods of not being able to shoot further than web range in the TD spam rooms.
Alternative is to use a missile spammer or extreme close range gun boat (read: Autocannons) as fall-off doesn't seem to be affected as it should be (Mach pops Sansha from 40+km out even when TD'ed! ) |

afaik falloff is now also affected by npc TD; i did not test it myself though.

It affects optimal and falloff. I've always thought it affects tracking, since minimizing transversal seems to help hit them a lot, but that may just be an effect of fighting with a battleship at 5km too. My solution to the problem is to fit a MWD (which I do anyway to cut down on run time in large missions) and get into their face until all the disrupters are killed.
I've heard that using a MWD and sniping with tachs is effective, because you are in TD's falloff range at 100km+ and won't be affected 100% of time. I can't say since I haven't tested it.
Also, there's a display bug that the EWAR icon won't show up. I've tested and reported it already but there's been no response. Killing all the disrupters will remove the effect; the trick is figuring out which rats are doing it. Use the hover-tooltip to check your optimal to see if you are still being disrupted. |

I started the Amarr epic arc tonight.
First mission.
My Mega Pulse IIs and (mostly) level V gunnery skills with scorch usually have an optimal of 51km.
That optimal was down to 6km. From 6 enemies.

I finally swapped a mid for an afterburner II and had to chase all the enemies one by one. The AI is dumb thankfully, so once you catch up you can pulse the AB on and off, and they'll fly directly away from you, at your ****** optimal, with a radial velocity of zero. Then you can finally kill them. If they're elite ships, there's no other way, unless you have drone bonuses on your ship... Or missiles.
Amarr need a Khanid battleship already. There should also really be a countermeasure module for tracking disruption. There's one for ECM... Tracking computers don't count, because a 20% bonus hardly counters a -70% debuff. |

I frequently switch from my Nightmare to to my Mach when factng Sansha. Sometimes I just use Aurora.

Another way to deal with TD is to use a Micro Jump Drive. I'm currently using this in my Apoc to avoid TD since their disruption range seems to be only around 70-75km ish. Since I'm not able to fit T2 weaponry I use Meta4 beams which have around 80km optimal with IN Standard and my skills + tracking comp. So here's what I do in missions for example Sansha Blockade: Clear first wave without problem, then the reinforcements with 6-8 TD ships jump in. I align my ship in a way that once i jumped the 100km I should be around 80-90km away from the TD ships and start sniping them from afar. Once this is done the MJD should be ready again, jump back on the BS and melt them with IN MF. Works fine for me, at least its by far faster than before the MJD was available since then I only had my drones to get rid off them while my guns were rendered useless. No idea how feasible this is for people with better ships/skills/modules than me but it works fine and the MJD spooling effect is always fun to watch while imagining a scene from Battlestar Galactica ;)

I experienced this yesterday while flying pirate invasion in my autocannon mach.
I tested it with only one beast lord left on the field, shooting at others with minimal transveral would only score glancing hits/misses every time. Whether or not it said he was using his TD on me. The moment I killed him, i went back to scoring much better hits, every time.
I have submitted it as a bug since either the UI isnt showing that he is constantly TDing, or the effect is staying on you when it shouldn't. |

Some claim similar problems and also that you can sidestep this issue by ceasing fire and starting it immideately again while you aren't under TD. For some reason it appears from those comments that TD's effects won't wear off while your guns still cycle even when actual TDing stops.
Can't really comment on this one as I do missions with heavy TD using SeBo+MJD setup. |

Since CCP seems to have the attitude of 'adapt or die' to the new mission AI, I started doing a few of them again.
I got L4 vengeance against sansha, seemed a good test. Using my Paladin, with 90% web. I had no tracking modules, and only a 6% tracking implant. In the first room, with many ships, I had from 1 to 6 tracking disruptors on me.
What I noticed was this: With 1 on me, using the web, my mega pulse II could still hit the cruisers and most of the frigates. With 3 on me, I was still able to hit the battleships occasionally firing the guns one at a time. The NPC tracking disruption also was not 100% constant, it jumped around from 2 to 6 at a time until I got the ships popped.
During the mission, I used my light drones sparingly, only bringing them out when I simply could not hit the last frigates with my guns. One drone did get some aggro, but it survived. I did not lose any drones in that mission.
Of course this was only that one mission I'm talking about. I did several others, but they were not the 'hard' missions. I look forward to getting the harder L4's, like blockade, worlds collide, scarlet, etc. |
