Hey guys,
I'm thinking of training into a Wolf but no matter how much I fiddle with Pyfa and Neocom I just can't seem to come up with a fit that works. I want something that kites with arty, but I always run out of grid and CPU when I try to use 280's (both engineering and electronics are at 5, and I have weapon upgrades 4). I'm afraid my damage will be too low with 250's, but is that a legitimate concern? Here is what I've come up with most recently
Wolf: 280mm kiting
Highs:
280mm Howitzer Artillery II x4 (RF EMP S)
[Empty high slot]
Mids:
1mn Adterburner II
Warp Disruptor II
Lows:
Internal Force Field Array I
Gyrostabilizer II
Tracking enhancer II
Micro auxiliary Power Core I
Co-Processor II
Rigs:
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
I'm 1.6 CPU over, but I think I can alleviate that with Weapon Upgrades 5. Do you guys have an fits that you suggest? I'm kinda stuck on what to do here. I feel that I can't control range well enough with an AB

1. advanced weapon upgrades is your friend
2. use 250s. anything you may successfully engage with a kiting wolf will not have an active tank to speak of, so dps is not the main problem.
3. the jaguar is more of a brawler. use it if you want but iirc it is more effective with autocannons and a shield buffer tank.

A kting wolf will be a PG hog to get the most out of it. If you can get a T2 Micro Aux Core, you use 4 280's and a MWD+disruptor in the mids. Fit for as much DPS and speed as you can in the lows (limited CPU at this point allows you to fit only 1 or 2 gyrostabs). a nano and 2 overdrive will get you going really fast. having a alpha over 1k with a range that easily goes to point range.
In the rigs, if you can fit for extended falloff rig and an agility rig.
NEVER EVER GET CAUGHT BY A WEB AND SCRAM IN THIS SHIP! You will die quickly.

That fits with Projectile Weapon Rigging 4 and +1% PG implant, or PWR 3 and +2% PG implant.
You could also drop the damage rig for polycarb/capacitor/whatever, and it fits without implants.

Thanks guys for all the replies I'll try these out when I get in one. I guess my CPU issue was stemming from my belief that all frigs need a DCU

Beast them on dps all the way up to 16km witha twin TE + Gyro 250 boat. For 280's, it's all about the alpha.
If you want 280's then fit nothing but damage and speed. And fit a scram. Anything that gets on top of you needs to be slow down to sub MWD speeds. If they look like they are aligning out (frigate sized) you will overheat into their range to finish them off.
