You need skills to fly it effectively. And cash, cause T2 is very expensive and you'll want as much T2 as you can fit to survive. But in all honesty, if your asking this... ----------------------------------------------- CANADIAN |

every mission except silence the informant, extravaganzas and rouge drone harassement can be done in an apoc without a big tank.fit tachyons or megabeams (best u can get)+2 small beams.for ur medslots use a 100mn ab, sensorbooster t2, tracking comp t2 and a cap recharger t2.Lows are depending on missiontype. for non deadspace use 1 armorrepair, 2 cap relays and 4 heatsinks t2. u warp in at 60, turn around 180¦, make a Bookmark and warp back to where u came from.then u go back at 60 to the boolmark u just made and snipe one ship after another. For Deadspace u fit 2 or 3 hardeners instead of 2 or 3 heatsinks.in allmost every mission u hit the afterburner right after warpin and try to get 100km between u and first group u want to attack. keep ur ship moving and snipe all out from 120 - 80km missions like duo of death u need to go in, align for warp out and kill spiderdrones with ur small beams and first bs..the u go out and refill cap before takin out the 2nd 2.75 mill BS

Thats not true. Rare and factions items ARE expnsive but T2 for Apoc - no really.
T2 tachions\megabeams = about 5mils Heatsinks = 1 mil Sensor Booster = 1 mil AB = 5 mils Tracking computer = 2 mils Cap rech = yeah , its a bit too expensive = 14mils 8(

Edited by: Rezi Bogdanov on 21/06/2005 16:27:36 the Apoc works very well for agent running, in my experience. Like said before, it requires a rather expensive setup though to be efficient. A "vanilla" tech1 apoc will be quite quickly fried in the harder missions, at least forced to warp out frequently.
The Apoc is also a lot more enjoyable against Blood Raider and Sansha rats, as their tanking weaknesses and damage output (EM/Thermal) matches the Apocs well. Against Guristas and Serpentis it will still work quite well. I try to avoid fighting Angel rats in my Apoc, since their damage is the hardest to tank, they are hard to hit with large lasers and are just generally terribly annoying...
So depending on your agent the Apoc might or might not be a good choice. For quickly killing Sanshas/Bloods i would really recommend it though.
Edit: to add to the "shopping list" 2x armour repairers, at least "Automated Carapace Restoration" @ 15-20 M each Named hardeners, at least 2 of each kind @ 1-4 M each.

Apocs work you just need more skills then a vannila raven setup basically because of torps needing noob skills to use, after the missile "nerf" hopefully that will be re balanced, but my apoc missioning setup is something like the following
6 Megapulse II's 2 Arb Cruise launchers 2 T2 Cap Chargers, 1 100MN AB, 1 Webby 3 Hardners (Kinetic, Thermal, Expl) 2 CPR, 2 Accomodation Armour Reps.
Drones (Beserkers), Cruise missiles for frgs and a mix of crystals for different ranges, (UV, Xray, MF, Std etc) can kill crusiers fine with the webby, BS's die quickly and have no problems taking out BS'es.

Apoc works fine. Not as good as a raven.
You may have to change fittings depending on the mission but it keeps life interesting.
