Just wondering if the user database for the two games are seperate or is there some sort of integration?
Could I potentially see another Pewty McPew in the Eve universe playing DUST?
If I wanted to give DUST a test drive could I use this account and just pay the additional subscription? Or would I have to create a new DUST account and hopefully my name isn't already taken?
EDIT: If the latter is the case where/how do I go create my DUST account now to reserve my name? |

Since Dust is a free-to-play game, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind you holding an account on Dust as well as an account on EVE. No idea about the name thing, though. Would really like input from a dev on this, actually.

I tried to create a character with my EVE Capsuleer name in the beta. Said the name was already taken and I am pretty sure no one would come up with that name.
So I'd say yes, the name database is common and duplicates are not possible. Not 100% sure though. |

No, All current and new names already in eve online are blocked from being created in dust. i already tried to create lordswift as a dust merc and was unable to so i just added a 1 after my name

That would not make sense. Your EVE character is a capsuleer, not a mercenary. Real life carrier captains don't go doing beach heads with marines. |

Nothing of that matters, all it matters is what ship you fly, where you fly with who you fly. Everything else is fluffy/funky stuff. |

The name database is shared between the games. It's possible to search for Dust names from EVE and vice versa.. kinda cool seeing your EVE avatar in your Dust screen.

Well if indeed this is true and the name database is shared makes me wonder if any other account data is shared cross-platform.
Will I have access to my Eve wallet in DUST?
Can I train on both accounts at the same time?
Can I play on both accounts at the same time? (Launch a bomb in space and be on the ground to see it go off)
Can I cross-train skills?
Will my DUST identity automatically be in the same CORP?

So I guess we will be seeing a 4th surname option added. I'm guessing this wasn't thought through on CCPs side.

I agree with the following assessment of the Mining Barge Buff and as a reformed "Greed-fit", High-sec AFK miner, I think that is saying something. -áMining Barge buff: CCP has acknowledged that miners in general are too stupid to make the correct fitting choices to make ganking them unprofitable. |
