When doing a courier mission, I opened the box when it was inside the cargo bay of my ship. I lost it all .... the box and the contents of the box. Does anyone know how to get it back ?

You dont. By opening the secure box and breaking its seal you forfit the mission.
Courier's are NOT surposed to break the seal of items they are transporting.

I did that too Opas. I was doing a courier mission for a fellow corp member delivering stuff from his personnel hangar to a corporate office. When I got to that corporate office, I opened the package and it disappeared into oblivion. I contacted my corp member to find out where the contents went and he didn't get them back either. So, nobody gets the content if a courier breaks it open. Don't know if this is a bug or a feature.

Lol, that is dumb. Does the poor sap who is paying for the transport loose all his stuff cause a courier screwed it up? If so the screen needs to be changed so that couriers need to apply and be accepted before the mission. And have a third party rating organization to show how good they are etc.. --------------------------------------- CSM Chat Log September 25, 2003: Fuhry> Some things we simply cannot test, and therefore we just put it on Tranq. cross our fingers and then get into panic m |

If you break the deal as a courier you should get the contents of the package. This is a well known way of transfering goods to people: setting up a mission with the colateral set to the agreed price and no reward. The customer breaks the package and gets the goods inside, the vendor gets the colateral as payment. The system also deliberately allows for theft, which is why the collateral should always cover the cost of the goods.
The only reason I can think of that it might have gone wrong is the fact that you broke it in your ship: I've always done it in the station hangar. But unless you are a thief or collecting goods you've paid for, you really shouldn't be breaking packages as they can't be delivered afterwards.

Yes, this concerns me too. I use this method of transferring goods. Especially for corp members who need something that I have but it's in another location or if I just don't want to waste the time to make a trip to get soemthing from a personal hanger.
Hope this was fixed.

I'm almost sure there was an official post about this somewhere...
You MUST open it in a hangar. You WILL lose it if you open it in your cargo.
