Anyone able to help? Oh this is also being patched onto a fresh install, not a copied folder of eve

I thought they made it clear to copy the game folder? When you install a new version of eve you damage the registry entries for the game. I suggest uninstalling everything, then retrying.

The fresh install i had used for my test client was a different folder than default thought it wouldn't have effected it

hmm the patcher seems to refuse to patch your files because they are changed
there can be several reasons for that: - you can have a virus that changed the dll file - the file could use an sector of your harddisk that is damaged
so run a virus scan check your harddisk with a tool from your harddisk manufactor (takes about an hour or two for the complete disk)

Edited by: Auldare on 20/06/2005 16:18:59 Just reformatted my pc to try and help getting the test client to work last week, also with this i done a complete virus scan once i had all up dates for windows 2000 on my pc, this was finished 2 days ago.
One thing i can't understand is any other game i have that needed an up date has done with no problems, I havent changed any file in the folders apart from the prefs.ini concerning my buffer size (80 to 512) I have tried to patch on the old eve folder i have stored on a disk from before the reformat, I have tried to install a test patch on a fresh install, a fresh install moved to another area on my harddrive.
Nothing has worked and i get the same error but at different times within the patching process depending on what type of the above mentioned eve folders used.
This has happened ever since they changed the chat type within the test patches to the best of my knowledge, So I am very concerned that the new patch when released will not work for me

Ok finally got it working, I tried another fresh install of the eve client to a different folder than the default and applied the patch. Just seems wierd that it was all hit and miss for me
