So good info on detailed queries for eve-search:

A search for a specific topic would look like this: topic:Hello
or if the topic contains spaces: topic:"Hello there"
can also be mixed with: topic:"Hello there" author:"Some Pilot"
and so on. Hopefully. hehe.

So, where IS www.eve-search.com? I am transferred to another site, EVE-files, with no searchfunction for fora. Yes, there is a searchfunction now left-top of these pages, but have you tried it? It's way behind in updated indices, and I don't like the way results are shown at all. Anyone?

Linkage I am currently performing maintinance on the servers in question after a hardware installation, EVE-Search will return in a few hours when the database has been re-indexed, sorry for any problems this may cause you.

Chribba, what happened to the function where you can get a player's posting info? The Top Ten list is still there, but you can't see any player's individual info! -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

EVE-Search appears to be "borked". I get all the ore types displayed as text, and that's all.

It's not hacked nor borged.
The answer is a bit riddle: "Figure out what Chribba mines most, and follow the trail therewards..."
Or, you can cheat and go to General Discussion, where there are number of solution threads on this matter :) -- V.H. |

nvm, It's becomes obvious when you access the site with the IGB... Very clever Chribba. I look forward to a return to normalcy. EVE-Search is an exceptionally useful service, and I miss it.

Nice feature, shame it doesnt work. Or maybe its limited to 1 search per day? Only get server time out messages after waiting a long time.

To search this form:
www.google.com and type: keyword site:http://myeve.eve-online.com/
this works with almost any page, note: google only shows the stored (scanned) content. (a post posted today will not show up in results for some time)

Edited by: Chribba on 04/08/2006 09:41:41 I've made some changes to the dev post finder to make it easier for your to find the important posts.
As well added a new search feature - "devs" - enable you to search for information in dev-posts only.
Example search - devs:Mining Returns posts containing 'mining' and is posted by a dev/gm/isd.
And finally another small button has been added when viewing the threads - the one to the right (or sometimes one line below the others) it enables you to only view the posts by that author in the thread.
For example if there is 50 replies, and you only want to view the original posters replies, then click that button and you will filter out all other replies, leaving only his/hers.

I would have to concur. I thought I was just blind, not seeing the search function, or that I had to be logged in. But I'm logged in and no search? Totally inexcusable. This is such a neat game, I demand a search function! And since I'm a paying customer, I don't feel like a **** for demanding it.

Whenever i search for 2 words I get the error.
Quote:
An Error Occured [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired
If I put quotes around those same two words the search works fine. I'm using Mozzila.

I locked Veldspar and Carebear to only be allowed to be searched by me Nah but seriously, what were the words and I'll look into it. Drop me them in an EVEmail if the words are classified from forum reading

I'm haveing a slight proublem with EvE-Search atm. I am useing FireFox 1.0.7 and when I try to select a subforum the little popup box with the forum list apears but when I click in it nothing happens.
I would try it with IE but when I installed FireFox 2 it some how removed IE from my computer, or at least prevented me from useing it.
Thanks for the great tool, -K
