Ok well since I have downloaded the patch see the server is still down. I would like to post a bug with the log in screen. WE HAVE LOST "SAVE PASSWORD OPTION WITH THIS PATCH" ON JUST THE LOGIN SCREEN. Now I have made programs before and I have deleted previous code when making the programs. BUT COME ON guys the save password is being deleted? What is up.... don't program when drinking bawls or mellow yellow... it will improve the quality of code that comes out. From Ashes to Ashes... From Dust to Dust....

those of us that have been playing on the test server have already noted the lack of 'save password' utility.
They never listen though!!

no, it doesnt, it was probably a good idea.
think agout the number of people using scripts etc. to mine / haul for them. some of the script makers write the code so that it emails them the users prefs.ini file, thus giving them access to the users account.
without a save password option, thee password is no longer stored in the prefs.ini, which makes the creation of scripts to steal accounts pointless. Ceo Aquitaine Space Conglomerate |

It makes me cry with joy to see that there's actually people here who can use their brains like Havoc.
The next time you see a change in funcionality which you percieve as a "bug", tell yourself that there's probably an idead behind the change and sit down and think about it really hard for a minute or two and maybe you'll experience something new.
Should be something equal to "seeing the light" for all you whiners.
Additionally, entering your own password really isn't that hard. Gives your memory some sorely needed practise as well.

Yup. CCP changed this to match the password policy of every other MMOG out there.
Feature request: For those that run multiple accounts from one box, how about giving us a dropdown box like DAoC does? ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

"people send preferences.ini to the site" if you are using the ingame browser to view sites you are retarded to begin with. It's unsecure and bypasses any firewall to play that game. Don't call people idiots. It's an ingame feature that I never use due to it's insecure nature. Gimme my password back! From Ashes to Ashes... From Dust to Dust....

First, I should say the password thing is fine with me, and *everyone* should read the patch notes ALL THE WAY THROUGH before calling something a bug and wasting time posting about it. That is for sure the problem with the guy who posted about the loss of password saving as a bug.
That having been said, even the most fairminded person, if she/he has been playing Eve since it went gold (let alone in beta) would have to be a maniacal optimist to assume that any change resulting from a patch is in fact a "feature"(to steal M$'s fav line). The vast majority of changes made in most of the patches in the last 2 months have either been entirely unintended (ie. errors or bugs) or have been deliberately implemented features that don't work right, or at all, or have unintended consequences. I'm not going to waste my time giving examples, just check this forum.
Given experience, I'd say almost any change not clearly documented in patch notes may be logically assumed to be a beta. That's not being paranoid, unfair, stupid or thoughtless. That's experience talking, and the sooner informed people post bugs to CCP and other players, the sooner CCP can start fixing it and the sooner other players can start to avoid/workaround the new bug while waiting it to be fixed.
If people had given CCP the benefit of the doubt re. labs and factories in the last patch I'd still be trying to make Cruiser BP copies and failing miserably, rather than using the time I have to do single batches of min eff research on them while waiting for a fix.
