Arrived a bit late to the Dust 514 party but it looks very exciting.
1. Is the Closed Beta still available to Eve subscribers? I read somewhere that you can get a closed beta code from Account Management at any point.
2. This question is a bit lame - how do you download the Dust client in the PS Store? I found two options - the Mercenary Pack which was -ú16 and the Closed Beta pack which seemed to indicate that you need Playstation Plus to download it - I couldn't find a download link anywhere. |

They don't do closed beta applications anymore.
Closed beta is probably almost over. You can buy access (merc pack) or get a PS plus subscription. The Merc pack is totally worth it.
Its easier to think of it as buying the game, than buying items in a free game. Nothing is free, and if you love the games ccp make you wont begrudge supporting them with a few bucks. |

So if I download the Merc pack (and yep, -ú16 to CCP seems like a good investment) will I be able to start playing on the PS network as soon as it has downloaded? |

Yes it is still available for free. Just go here and follow the steps. All you need to do is create an IGN account if you don't have one already.

I recently purchased a PS3, knowing that Dust would be out shortly.
Last night I finally created an account so I could go on the PS3 store etc.
I found the Dust Merc pack, saw that it was $29.99aud, added funds to my wallet, added it to cart, and went to check out.
Message came up "an error has occurred". Tried again, same thing.
Quit out of store, went back in, and there's no longer an option to add to cart, it now says "not available for download" or something.
So it looks like I missed out on the Dust merc pack by about 5 minutes :( |

Went out and bought a ps3 to see what the hubub was about. Was considering getting the merc pack but noticed on opening the ps3 box there was a voucher inside for the same benefits. Used that and was able to DL and play dust. So if someone was lookign to do the same thing check the boxes first before buying the merc pack.
Still looking for the voucher to make me not suck so bad. |

Did you check to make sure you got the proper merc pack? There were several from what I saw earlier. Some give you only Aurum while others give you AUR, boosters, BPO's and full access to the beta. Honestly, I think you should have waited until the 22nd. At that point, you wouldn't need a merc pack. It's only less than a week away.

Doesn't seem strange to me. It's perfectly normal for CCP to be mute about anything about a week before something happens.
