I saw that the target painters got switched from doing a signal pentaly of 25/50% to a signalradiusbonus of 25/30%. This is like the MWD bonus of 500% signalradiusbonus. Can anyone explain the diffrence between a signal pentaly and a signalradiusbonus?

Target painters = The win button Use as many as you possibly can, tech II preferably. 1400's hitting inties at 7km with 8k transverse is reasonable. This prolly won't help you at all.

They got nerfed into their intended role. Helping you hit things somewhat better.
Not helping you hit everything using anything with total ease.

You misunderstand. I'm fine with the mwd + painter = moon bug being fixed, that was stupid.
They also nerfed the radius bonus of tech 2 down to tech 1. Painters were fine when mwd wasn't involved. ________________________________________________________

moon bug? what's that mean?
I havn't played with them. but it doesn't seem like a better solution. You can still stack painters to push a persons signature up to or over a battleships signature. So there is no point of using a MWD anymore.

Right now, the sig penalty perfectly cancels out the speed increase in the tracking equation - if you're not orbitting at the same % speed you could without it due to agility, you're actually INCREASING the amount you get hit.
Also, the "moon bug" was an interaction between the MWD sig radius bonus and the painter sig radius bonus - the MWD bonus was just applied twice, giving you the sig radius of a moon (actually closer to a station).
An MWD is also, post-patch, the only way you're going to recieve major missile damage in an inty from anything above an assault launcher via the increased sig - though this will be obviated by the speed, it isn't clear how much, and the missiles are quite fast.

Right now I just MWD to avoid missiles in orbit better. You're right about not needing a MWD to avoid tracking. Using a AB does fine vs larger guns when avoiding getting hit.
Right now also the painters boost you to 1000+ with mwd+painter. Is that the moonbug? or is that normal?

They only needed to fix the 'moon bug', not nerf the things to be crappier than tracking computers (which btw need no extra skills to train besides the skill to use it)
Although the tech 2 ones should have had harsher skill requirements than t1, that must have been an oversight.
Bring back 50% t2 ones please.

And the AB doesn't do "enough" to evade turrets compared to MWD, it evades turrets THREE TIMES AS GOOD with a faction AB and the AB-boosting skill at 5.
