Hi I am around two weeks into this game and i heard FW is quite fun. Any suggestion on where do I start and good guides?
I am Minmatar but with Amarr frigate/cruiser, Gallente drone skills... (because I was trying to solo explore with Arbitrator)
I also heard the FW corps turn away new players. Is it true? or can I play FW solo? |

You can join FW by yourself without joining a FW corp. There is an FW alliance chat so you can sometimes pickup pubbie fleets to go roaming in low sec.
You can PVP by yourself but generally between the pirates and other groups you might die a lot.
One thing you need to keep in mind is when you join FW that the Faction Navies of the opposing navies will attack you in hi-sec of their respective empries.
Say if you join Gallente, the Calari Navy will attack you when you go to Jita.
You can always work around that by using alts to haul your gear around.
Also it doesn't matter which faction you join based on your skills. You can fly and fight in any ship "Entitlement" is a euphemism for "I hate the way you play and it makes me cry like a baby" |

I heartily recommend Faction Warfare. It can be done solo, but it's nowhere near as fun as when you're flying with a group of corpies and/or allied militia.
Most of the militia corps I've seen are very friendly towards new players/characters. I recommend Rifterlings (their site, EVE Online forum advert) and my own 47th Special Operations Group (EVE Online forum advert) in particular if you want to play on the Minmatar side. I don't know any corps on the other sides.
You can fly any ships you want, unless you find one of those Role-Playing corps where for instance if you're Amarr you only fly Amarr ships. Rifterlings and the 47th are good because we concentrate on frigates and destroyers mostly, so PvP is cheap. |

Advice for FW ... put a web, a MWD and a scram in the mids, guns in the highs and a nanofiber, a damage control and a damage mod in the lows.
Undock.
Go have fun and try to kill people.
When you run out of money to buy frigates, drop your FW corp and go back to making money for a bit.
Repeat. |
