Edited by: Dark Shikari on 26/06/2005 23:31:32 Apparently, EVE runs just fine, about 15 FPS, on a Pentium 4 machine with a Radeon 7000VE (link is nearly 3 years old, imagine it today).
This is quite an achievment.
*Dark Shikari continues enjoying the fact that he can play EVE, or at least manage EVEmails, convoes, skills, and orders, along with autopiloting and moon scanning, from a bottom-end Dell computer in a computer systems lab. -- Dark Shikari: POS Consultant!

I used to run eve on my old pentium and would be annoyed when someone would say,"Gee im lagging only get 30 FPS atm" and I would stare at my less then 1 fps and cry about how i cant even get 30 in a station....
But now I am one of those ppl! ---------------

Someone in my corp uses a P2-400 to play eve. He has an ok gfx card (ti4200) and it seems to run fine tbh. If I remember correctly, he has either 256 or 512mb of ram tho, so that probably helps a bit.

It is 'centipede' because you can actually control all those ships you see on the screen

Since we're on the topic of FPS, what do the players with intense setups average? I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 Bit Processor 3500+ with an ATI Radeon X800 XL and I average roughly 40 FPS outside the DED station and around 70 in warp. To be honest that 40 FPS sounds a bit low. á

I got a 3200XP amd cpu, 1.5GB of memory and a 9800XT and I run 3 clients with no lag (apart from going through gates)...
Sorry, I felt like bragging.

That is low... I get 90-110fps. New drivers?

I used to run EVE on a Geforce 2 and got a fine FPS even in station sieges. That is to say, it lags just as bad with my 9800 at stations sieges as it did with my Geforce 2. =/ ----------------

Looking at the other replies it looks to me like EVE doesn't benefit from SLI at all, since I get similar frame rates to other high end systems based on inferior ATI cards with no SLI capabilities.
I have: - AMD FX-55
- 1GB of PC3200 @ 2-2-2-5
- Two 6800 Ultras in SLI mode
I get:
- 400 FPS login screen
- 220 FPS docked with no windows open, dropping by about 20% for each window I open, but seems to settle at 70 FPS minimum
- 90-100 FPS in space, again open windows lowers it but again it seems to never go below 70 FPS
It was top 100 for 3D Mark 2005 when I first put it together 3 months ago, but it's slipped to 601st. Mind you everything is at stock speeds, no overclocking, anyway, here's the compare: Linkage
